Anyone who has suffered, IS suffering, or knows someone who is suffering domestic violence should watch The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. It's amazing and the ending literally made me weep.

P.S. Sigourney Weaver kicked ass in her role.

Shogun starring Hiroyuki Sanada ( one of my all-time favorite actors )
It's an AMAZING series so far!
If there’s one show that everyone is talking about right now, it’s Shogun. From the start, the FX series has been highly-anticipated by fans, who’ve been awaiting another on-screen adaptation of James Clavell’s novel for decades.
Following three characters who collide in seventeenth century Japan, the series has already proven itself as the show to beat for 2024. Currently sitting at 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, the mini-series has gained a fast following, with many viewers declaring it a “masterpiece“.

Just wow.
Ohhhhh there's going to be a season 2!!!!! Guys, this earliest "prequel" to "Yellowstone" is amazing. I can't say enough about the filmography as well as the authenticity of the era. And that narration is absolutely poetic.
And what is with all the prequels to series lately?! I had no idea that lawman Bass Reeves was involved in all of this. And, that the Lone Ranger was inspired by him?! Then why was the Lone Ranger white?! So many questions, no answers.

Shogun was AMAZING. Seriously. I kinda hope there's not a second series. I don't know how it could be better or even equal in quality.
My grandson has me watching 'Reacher' right now.

It’s Official: ‘Shōgun’ Seasons 2 & 3 are in the Works at FX

Oh ugh! The mini series was perfect, scoring 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. The chances of them fucking things up is extremely high but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. The same way I did with DUNE. Hiroyuki Sanada plays a major part as an advisor to authenticity, and I've never seen him in a bad movie.

I LOVED Shogun. The performances were incredible. Toranaga, Ishido, and Mariko were all very interesting (and intimidating) characters, but the player I was rooting for the most was the treacherous Yabushige, who was forced into several difficult decisions yet retained a stoic humor about his predicaments that I related to a lot. I don't see how this story can be continued, though, and I have reservations about this idea lol. That budget could be spent on a ninja movie!
I was going to write up a review for Justified: City Primeval a few couple several moons ago, but frankly........I didn't really like it. As much as I thought I would, anyway. It was good TV, and Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens is still entertainingly acerbic, it's not even in the same league as the original series. Justified holds a special place in my heart, not only does it respectfully/realistically portray my own dear Appalachian outlaw culture, its season 4 Drew Thompson storyline is loosely based on a fellow who went to the same high school I did (decades before me, so not the same building) named Wally Thrasher aka "The Squirrell", who supposedly died in a plane crash while smuggling weed (his old compound is actually just down the road from my aunt's farm in Bland County, Va., which is just down the road from my own property there. Walking distance, though I don't like hanging around that place). It's a show that always made me feel welcome to enjoy its well-conceived criminal ecosystem and hilariously realistic Appalachian outlaw characters, without mocking hillbilly culture, yet poking a sardonic finger in its eye at the same time. The show really caught the essence of these forgotten little towns in this part of the country, the poorest in America. Unfortunately, Primeval just doesn't live up to the greatness of the parent show, and despite the Detroit setting, NONE of the Detroit Mafia lore from the core show is even referenced in passing, a terrible disappointment, as the Detroit guys were INSANE on Justified (a sly nod to the effects of the tap water there maybe lol). A whole new outlaw, Clement Mansell aka "The Oklahoma Wildman", aptly played by Boyd Holbrook, is an interesting Justified villain, I just wasn't buying into him like I did Boyd Crowder or Mags Bennett. Before it's over you will absolutely want to see him meet his "justified" fate, and I felt no sympathy for this character. Toward the end, he's squared up directly against the Albanian mob, and what happens completely stretched the realism to where I had to ultimately give it a thumbs down. I mean, no fucking way, dude. You'd have to see it to know what I mean, but I won't spoil. Don't get me wrong, it's good TV, it's similar to Justified, and Sopranos alum Vondie-Curtis Hall steals the show as Sweetie the bar owner, but I found this iteration to be less than stellar. Also disappointingly, no Wynn Duffie to wynn our hearts with his scene-stealing wit.

Asano also played Lord Kira in 47 Ronin ( the 2013 version ). Which, despite its low reviews, I truly enjoyed.
I'm going to give the sequels. I mean seriously . . .two sequels?! One is stretching it perhaps too far in my mind, but we'll see!
I haven't seen 'Justified'. I'm watching 'The Veil' with Elizabeth Moss right now. Talk about a diverse actress. . .the jury is still out but so far, I'm enjoying it.

Okay the latest 'Interview with a Vampire' by Anne Rice ( AMC ) is shockingly surprisingly different but doesn't shove it in your face.
