Love it, Bren! I used to sit by the lake and watch them come in for a landing on the water.

Spring is spring'n here!

I guess we've all heard about SCOTUS' ballot ruling. There is so much I wanted to say, but HCR put it much more succinctly.

Heavy rains, again. But bring them. We'll need the reserves come summer. Something interesting: a floating rock. So why is this rock floating? I looked up the law of buoyancy:

So why do some rocks float? The reason that most rocks sink is because of the law of buoyancy, which is all about how things float or sink. This law is also called Archimedes’ Principle. Archimedes was a scientist who lived in ancient Greece. Archimedes’ Principle says this: An object will float if it displaces as much water as it weighs.

I guess this was a thirsty rock!

In other news. . .Super Tuesday. Looks like it's going to be a rematch of the 2020 presidential election: https://deepundergroundpoetry.com/forum/speakeasy/read/12729/45/#576267

So, I woke up today to foggy wetness and half a dozen men digging up my yard. They are laying fiber internet and have the road practically blocked with equipment and made a muddy mess. Good times!

Meanwhile, it's difficult to believe that in 2024 we are still fighting for voting rights!

I'm saying nothing, A, but it sounds like you had a good time 🙃

Yes! Right! Me walking out in my jammies and disheveled hair to feed the strays to find half-a-dozen men instead. Good times! LOL! No one is EVER out that early!

This put the biggest smile on my face!
Probably because it's totally something that would happen to me!!
You could write a fun piece around this, A! ❤️

Aha! It's funny now! I was horrified then. I looked out the window first this morning!

I am feeling fantastically energized this morning! I slept a solid 12 hours last night without moving once. Strangely enough, I am not worried about the direction of our country. I have this peace that everything is working accordingly. Latest HCR is up!

I've been minding me sister's dog Poppy🐕 for a few days, A. That lane is part of our evening walk, and I always like the way it looks in the dark.

(In this pic, Poppy🐕 wanted a bit of me biscuit.)

Stil in the midst of rainy season here. But let it come! Everything is beginning to bloom!

Latest HCR is up with interesting contrasts between how women are portrayed by the two dominating parties in this country.

Just a spider's web after the rain. And now the sun is out and it's a glorious day! Happy Super New Moon in Pisces!

Ahavati said:Thanks for the well wishes on NaPo, Styxian! The team appreciates that, as I was not the only one bothered by your mention of NaPo in the PotM thread.

As far as messaging, you could've messaged me too, but decided to put it all out here. I answered honestly and posed valid questions as to why you just can't ignore what you don't like. I do. Every. Single. Day. here I ignore posts and threads I don't like. Because far be it from me to attempt to judge what anyone else posts if what they post matters to them. My choice is to ignore it, not attempt to influence them to change to please me.

Lastly, being we southerners all know what "Bless your heart" means, I won't return the sentiment. And that's not putting a negative spin on it. It's being polite. And the fact that you "weren't surprised" by my comment tells me all I need to know about what you truly think of me. Which, btw, I could care less about.

You literally edited your statement a day later just to add the part about "how I really feel about you".  Wow. I mean, wow.
You have no idea how I feel, really. You react only to how YOU feel about things said.  Even a day later.  Humility means knowing when someone, even if a perceived adversary(I'm not) has valid points to be considered.  You dwelled on it into the next day, obviously.
So, here you are. I think positively about your poetic offerings. I think negatively towards your adverse stirrings of political agendas, even if you've only implied them.
This place is a haven for creative purposes. You carry a torch to start fires upon things that you do not agree with. I simply hope that you'd lay down your animosity and be solely positive. Set an example for the regulars and newcomers alike.  Use this place to unify all the minds who enjoy the camaraderie of creative writing. It's not a soap box.
You underhandedly preach diversity. I want unity, for the sake of this as a haven. You can pick up your political banner when you exit the room. In the meantime, enjoy the entire circle of all.  It moves forward much more progressively .
I wish you well. And I wish you wisdom. It's not too late.
