Poetry Contest

You are boarding the spaceship to planet. Is it positive? What do you hope to find there.....or is this a spaceship to a prison colony?
Could be a poem up to 100 lines.      Or could be a short story to 2,000 words or so.       Have fun with it.

To Planet Obsxion.

Well Ma, I sure took your loving advice,
and got me a berth on our new star ship,
I signed on as colonist, the cheapest price,
that's work, eh? Like you said..? Not just a trip?

We're blasting off to Obsxion.
the engineers an' us conned colonists,
in just a click we will be long, long, gone
in our super-duper f.t.l, space ship.

It takes quite a while to reach the speed o' light
but engineers say, we've got all we need,
" our 3d printers will make your food, right,
and we don't take much blood from folk we bleed..."

The Captain sez, the solar sails are out
and we pick up the sun's wind on the port side,
the engineers made some eggs and there's no doubt
they made 'em from blood of folk who've just died.

I'll close now Ma, we're off for the big sleep,
when I wake you'll be dead ten thousand years,
but in the fridge there's a cheese you should keep
and sniff, cos that pong will bring you right here!

Planet Obsxicon

Our destination was planet Obsxicon
Two light years away
But we found ourselves landing
On planet Obnoxious.

Seems our very irritable commander
Rear Admiral James T. Cork
Had sipped a bit too much grog, blew it
And pressed the right keys at the wrong time
Never one to admit he did something wrong

Very unpleasant fellow
Got his command only because his brother
Married the Commander-in-Chief
(A dreadful personage)

So we barely started exploring
Came upon what looked like a pyramid
But that irritated him for he KNEW that it was
An Aztec construction
Not even fascinated by what was in front of us
In the fisrt place.

He was a huge hindrance to this voyage
But though we were at the wrong place
We decided to explore and have a good time.

Blake Hole

fifteen seconds at the speed of light from here
there is a deserted rock, empty and abandoned
which has roamed the universe for eternity.

planet nothing is the name of this crystal stone
but everyone just calls it home bitter home
everyone pretends not to squander the little one.

all the inhabitants are proud enough to forget
that are just the beings on the smooth surface
of a tiny grain of sand in the ocean of stars.

the universe follows its course towards the navel
in an eternal self-referential dream so atheistic
without waiting for self-styled intelligent beings.
