Poetry Contest

Create a concrete or shape poem on any shape or theme of your choice. The words must define the shape or object.

You may submit the final product as a photo (jpg, png, or pdf), to prevent the words from shifting out of line during submission.  You must first submit the poem under your regular profile (New Submission), then add it to the comp from there, after which you may change it out for a Visual Poem with the + image feature.

RULES
1 entry per human being (multiple aliases not allowed)
50 words max
NO linguistic, metaphoric, or (porno)graphic obscenities
NEW and ORIGINAL poems only

ADJUDICATION
Entries will be judged on visual impact as well as message content, by a panel of adjudicators.

ENTRY DEADLINE
Competition closes June 25

Thank you for your entry, wallyroo; and how apt for the concurrent celebration!
You are one word over the limit, but we ca work with that.
Best regards to you.

I appreciate the effort, Gentle. You still have several hours to rectify the word-count disarray.  You are way over the 50-word limit.
Looking forward to your adjustment.

CONGRATULATIONS to the winner, Betty, for Hangman's Scaffold.  Well done, Wallyroo, for chalking up a close 2nd place with Rainbows.  Thanks to all participants for making this so diverse in creative thought.
Big thank you to our judges, Ahavati, lepperochan, and MadameLavender.  Let's do another interesting one sometime soon again.
