Poetry Contest Description
New Member of the Month Feature!
Welcome to "New Member of the Month"!
You have 3 weeks to nominate Your favorite poems from a NEW DUP poet - someone who has been a member for no more than six months.
To locate New Members simply click on 'Poems' > *Latest Poems > Sort Poems > New Members!
Please note the following guidelines when making nominations:
1. Self nominations are not accepted. The great majority of the competitions here are about spotlighting one's own work on a particular topic or theme. This is a chance to nominate that poem that you wish you had written but some other great talent here beat you to it.
2. Until this comp is established, there is no limit to nominations; however, you can't nominate more than one poem per individual new member. *****
3. No DUPLICATES. If someone nominates the same poem the entry will be deleted. If you like it that much wait and vote for it!
4. Any genre except erotica or pornography. This is a Facebook feature and we must adhere to their guidelines.
5. Any member who is banned or disables their account PRIOR to the win will be automatically disqualified.
6. One win per member per calendar year ( 12 months ).
7. All nominators should notify their nominees of nominations.
8. PLEASE DON’T NOMINATE RECENT WINNERS ( see list below )
Any nominated member who wishes to opt out of the competition may do so by messaging me. I will contact the person who nominated you and request an alternate nomination.
Nomination Duration is 3 weeks followed by a week of site voting!

CHERRY BLOSSOMS
The cherry blossoms bloomed
Last week, when I was away
And upon returning,
I found my town bathed in their sweet scent
Cherry blossoms remind me of spring
And they reminds me of you
Sweet and rosy and wrapping and twisting around me
The cherry blossoms returned to me
Will you?

she's above all of that
every poem has a poet, and every poet a muse
I am the poet , my wife is my muse
her love isn't like this or that
it has been written so many way
your lover is like every breath you take
comparing her to works of art
no master painter could capture my loves beauty
no sculpture could mold a peace of clay so elegantly
the sharpest chisel in a craftsman's hand
could ever capture my love amazing essence
compare all yours love to what want
for my muse she is a perfect gift from above
so feel free to elevate yours, so liken your muse to mine

Spiritual Changes
Speaking with spirits.
Constantly searching for more.
Question our life path.
Knowing the veil is thinning.
Our souls are all connected.

Remains Of The Day
Soft amber glow as the fireplace crackles
three hungry children, a crop in the field
spirit dragged down by poverty’s shackles
fingers worked to the bone, skin cracked and peeled
Galvanized steel tub, warm and inviting
a dirty dress in town, folks laugh and scoff
the old man is drunk, tired of the fighting
sleepless nights from a racking coal dust cough
Wisps of steam drift and the feel of the sponge
sweat on her face hides the ocular drips
such a beautiful face covered in grunge
she’s tired of heavy loads and aching hips
Rose soap on the step, sweet heavenly scent
they can’t make ends meet on such meagre pay
alone in her world, she soaks and feels spent
but leaves in the tub remains of the day
three hungry children, a crop in the field
spirit dragged down by poverty’s shackles
fingers worked to the bone, skin cracked and peeled
Galvanized steel tub, warm and inviting
a dirty dress in town, folks laugh and scoff
the old man is drunk, tired of the fighting
