Would anybody like a video of their poem?

poet Anonymous

‘Sup.

Due to my government imposed Covid-19 holiday being extended to summertime, I have rather a lot of free time on my hands at the moment.

Is there anybody out there that would like a video / audio of their poem done? I’m just offering this up as a way of sharpening my skills and it is something I enjoy doing to pass the time.

Free of charge, no strings. Just the goodness of my heart.

Just as a side note... I will have to actually feel like I can do the poem justice, and connect with it to a degree to put the passion in, so please don’t be offended if I pass on a piece. It’s nowt personal.

And please no smut or erotica.

If I could share it in the loudspeaker group here on the DU after, that would be super.

Anyways, hit me up with a PM if it’s something you’re interested in.

Cheers 👍🏻

(Edit: 9th March — thanks for all those that offered. I’m not taking on anymore after today as I have a fair few to work through now )

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to these awesome two for letting me play with these poems and their incredible imagery.

☝️ The old thread that now has a new home over on LoudSpeaker.

There were some great moments in this thread and it was always one of my favourites from days gone by. It was also lovely to see people supporting each other’s poetry.

Be My Origami

I find equality in the color
of a murmur, our tesselation
unvaried in repose.

You are my love, my kami washi
as ravishing as  mitsumata under
the rising sun.

You are perfection in smooth folds
along gentle curves of the petal.
Our passion soars, like  subtle
strands  of unryu, over mountains
that heave, and  through fertile
 valleys
Your skin, an  exquisite  fabric
embossed with the symbol
of forever

ThIs is where I will stay
Now, rest with me  in kudsumada
with mulberry and supple
gampi bark
Eternity waits

You are my love
You are my origami

I would love to hear Magdalena recite this piece of mine
Do I need to go to LoudSpeaker

I’m not personally taking on anymore at the moment because I still have a few to work through (I did write that in the original post)

However, that’s the idea of the thread in the group! Post the poem and anybody that wants to take it on, will

You make a great deal. Good for you.
Can you tell me what equipment do you use?
I can recommend BM800. I read on the review it's the https://likesfinder.com/blog/the-best-cheap-microphones for recording

I’m not doing any more at the moment... I still have 2 to do 😂

For me personally I find my iPhone headset to be enough for recording. I do also have a standard condenser microphone that I use for music.

I am currently recording with a budget condenser microphone (as sadly I am not rich) - The Neewer NW-700, which is available on Amazon for as little as £15, however I cannot fault the microphone at all in terms of quality for the price paid. Fantastic beginner microphone. The advantage with this mic is if you purchase a little extra piece of kit (the iRig pre, approx £25) you can hook this up to your iphone / ipad which makes it a really useful piece of kit to own.

Hi Valeriy.

I took a hiatus but came back recently, not as active due to so much of my personal life taking up my time. If you still want me to do an audio/video of your poem, I can do that.
