Give thanks to DU Poets for their positive influence on yourself and this site.
The description is pretty straightforward, just follow the guidelines below:
* Positive, Uplifting Submissions Only ***
* New Poems Only
* All forms accepted ( Visual, Spoken Word, etc. )
* Any style or length ( just try not to go novella on me )
* No submission limit.
* No copy/paste. Submit your poem through your profile. In your author's notes, make sure to list who the submission is about.
* Have fun. Be genuine. Share the gratitude for those in your life who make a difference in living it daily.
*** In regards to the positive, uplifting submissions, this is in reference to the member that you're writing about, not yourself. You can diss yourself and whatever miserable or hopeless being YOU were before the influence of this poet affected you positively.

Beautiful One
He is a pure soul
Kind
Thoughtful
All giving
There is absolutely
Nothing pretentious
About the man
He's the real deal
Realer than real
And when he writes
He does it with tenderness
Has a keen eye for
All things beautiful
He has an unmatched
Understanding of
The human condition
And his poetry
Speaks to one's very soul
Kind
Thoughtful
All giving
There is absolutely
Nothing pretentious
About the man
He's the real deal
Realer than real
And when he writes
He does it with tenderness
Has a keen eye for
All things beautiful
He has an unmatched
Understanding of
The human condition
And his poetry
Speaks to one's very soul

Flower Girl
She is a woman of strength
A force to be reckoned with
And yet her heart is a gentle one
A kind and giving soul
Who has a deep compassion
For her fellow man
Cherish the tender in her
Beautiful love poetry
Every word so genuine
So heartfelt
She gives to us
Her heart and soul
In her passionate verse
She gives to us all
Her purple love
A force to be reckoned with
And yet her heart is a gentle one
A kind and giving soul
Who has a deep compassion
For her fellow man
Cherish the tender in her
Beautiful love poetry
Every word so genuine
So heartfelt
She gives to us
Her heart and soul
In her passionate verse
She gives to us all
Her purple love

I just edited the guidelines to reflect there is no limit to entries per DU profile. I realize it may be difficult to choose between your friends; therefore, screw the limitations and give thanks to whoever you want as many times as you want.

Hi, Rew; thanks for your submission. Unfortunately it's not following the comp guidelines:
* No copy/paste. Submit your poem through your profile. In your author's notes, make sure to list who the submission is about.
If you can edit it'll qualify. Thanks so much.

The Divine One
Her light shines brightly
No less the largest star
Glowing against a heavenly sky
She is perhaps more wordy
Than she is worldly
But if it's true it doesn't
Diminish her worthiness
And I suspect she was
Surely born with a pen
Clenched in one hand
With her pen
She takes us to
Places we have never
Been before
As divine as she is
I can picture her in the jungle
Keeping company with
The wildest of beasts
Or perhaps
Deep in the forrest
Painting pictures
With her enchanting pen
She speaks her truth
Having drawn from
The depths of her soul
Her divine words
Like beautiful songs
They dwell inside one's heart
She is probably unaware
Of her impact on the people
That surround her
But now they have found her
They profoundly love and adore her
No less the largest star
Glowing against a heavenly sky
She is perhaps more wordy
Than she is worldly
But if it's true it doesn't

Mr. Macabre
You could call him
Mr. Macabre
Master of the dark
The seedy
The horrifying
Like little jig saw
Puzzle pieces
That paint a scary scene
When all of them
Fit into place
Oh, how he spins
His gory words into
The worst of the worst
Deep dark tales
He has a brighter side
That we don't often see
But it does exist
And the work
That it produces
Tend to oddly fall
On the heavenly side
And is not a bit sinister
Mr. Macabre
A man of wit
A poet of merit
A writer of sheer terror
Who keeps us squarely
On the edge of our seats
Patiently awaiting our
Next repulsing ride
Down, down, down
And through the gates
Of hellacious nightmares
Mr. Macabre
Master of the dark
The seedy
The horrifying
Like little jig saw
Puzzle pieces
That paint a scary scene
When all of them
Fit into place
Oh, how he spins

dear Wally
he is quietly observant
reading the poets he admires
leaving thoughtful comments
then as quietly as he arrived he departs us
I have a confession part of my heart sinks when he leaves
I long for more of him
I glow when I hear from him
metaphorically speaking
so passionate with the pen
he collects his thoughts from the soul
his victories and defeats
brings them to life on the page
he is a real man I can believe in
dearest Wally, you shine
in my eyes a hero
I look forward to seeing your avatar on screen
I take comfort in your presence
in essence you're noticed among the great ones
the du halls sacred
a guardian I look up to
pen to heart...love Crimsin

Webmistress
Took the blinding leap of faith
stood firm and and said " I wont be swayed"
to see a vision, believe its grace
to dig for gold with a rusty spade
Walk upon the red hot coals
the chef to fire the appetite, with tasty bowls
set the course
be the spring rise, at its source
A ballroom chandelier, to captivate
the joy as we participate
and as we swirl and dance
to the webmistress, we give our thanks
Not a competition entry
