I think everybody agrees black lives matter.
I agree with it. We’re talking about my cousins.
I don't think i've read anything to the contrary. so we're still together in a manner of speak. nobody thinks black lives don't matter. happy days. so one of us declares she identifies as an African american, on the face of it, at first anyway it appears to be a bit laughable
so now we're looking at her and some of us are saying you can't do that, lady. you're the wrong colour. it's crazy. you're crazy.
Yup. And supposedly I’m doing this for attention. But no. I really don’t want it.
It’s been stifling my ambition on YouTube.
We’re terrified at home this will turn into some nasty purges which would include Jews and blacks. Meaning I’m scared for my Jew-babies! And black lives who hate me.... (Farrakhan calls my family “termites” - not all blacks hate Jews, clearly!)
( I got something of what she was saying. a lot of people went to a lot of time and trouble for people to identify as whatever they like. question arises: will the people (us) recognise the woman's identity ? )
Scholars at Cambridge do.
we're still marching together.
Yup!
where I'm sceptical is the notion the enemy is identified as a middle aged white man
This too, is scary.
Fact: 90% of interracial black/white crime is black ON white.
Abolish “whiteness” the label and that genocide tool goes away.

When someone says I'm not racist they probably are
So perhaps we should include prejuidiced what is bias what is a bigot .
Immediately after the killing of
George Floyd you could smell
and taste uprising in the air
Things began to come together
and BLM took the lead
Soon after an assortment of #
followed or joined.
With due diligence I began to sort out who the groups were protesting
I stand strong and believe in equality
I firmly believe the time has come for Blacks and African Americans to set forth demands for change .
What bothered me the most and left an impression on me is the following demands ( requests) of BLM from 2017
White people, here are 10 requests
from a Black Lives Matter leader
White people, if you don’t have any descendants, will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably one that lives in generational poverty.
2. White people, if you’re inheriting property you intend to sell upon acceptance, give it to a black or brown family. You’re bound to make that money in some other white privileged way.
3. If you are a developer or realty owner of multi-family housing, build a sustainable complex in a black or brown blighted neighborhood and let black and brown people live in it for free.
4. White people, if you can afford to downsize, give up the home you own to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.
5. White people, if any of the people you intend to leave your property to are racists assholes, change the will, and will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.
6. White people, re-budget your monthly so you can donate to black funds for land purchasing.
7. White people, especially white women (because this is yaw specialty — Nosey Jenny and Meddling Kathy), get a racist fired. Yaw know what the fuck they be saying. You are complicit when you ignore them. Get your boss fired cause they racist too.
8. Backing up No. 7, this should be easy but all those sheetless Klan, Nazi’s and Other lil’ dick-white men will all be returning to work. Get they ass fired. Call the police even: they look suspicious.
9. OK, backing up No. 8, if any white person at your work, or as you enter in spaces and you overhear a white person praising the actions from yesterday, first, get a pic. Get their name and more info. Hell, find out where they work — Get Them Fired. But certainly address them, and, if you need to, you got hands: use them.
10. Commit to two things: Fighting white supremacy where and how you can (this doesn’t mean taking up knitting, unless you’re making scarves for black and brown kids in need), and funding black and brown people and their work.
#RunUsOurLand #Reparations
Am I considered racist, prejuidiced, a bigot, or just biased if I don't agree with this set of demands ?
Fair enough, it doesn't scream equality. I think they reflect her own thoughts more than the groups. certainly reads like she made them up on the spot
I don't believe the any kind of majority of activists think like that. I think any group of large numbers which are inter-state and international will be prone to some leaders who could be viewed as extreme / extremists
I'm not sure it was supposed to be taken seriously. do6really know much about it. I wouldn't class you any of the things you mentioned for not agreeing with it

Creed
Power does not belong to a minority—
even counted together
they could not exceed the majority;
thus, stepping toward Oneness

better yet. . .

Everyone is free to believe in whatever and express those beliefs.
It's when the expression of a belief is done at another person's expense, that's where the line is crossed.
For example, a white person is welcome to believe that non whites are dangerous and or inferior, and even express that opinion.
It's when the racist acts upon the belief in such a manner that it undermines the livelihood of anyone else - that's where the line is crossed. Then it becomes harrassment, abusive, etc. and it shouldn't be tolerated.
We don't need for people to change their beliefs. What we need is for everyone to adhere to a system in which the harrasment, abuse, etc isn't rewarded with a free pass.
As Ahavati mentioned in a recent poem of hers, all tribes need fair representation. Groups and labels are important in identifying the people that are being oppressed by other groups in order to rectify the situation.
Condensing the labels or removing the labels will not cause white racists from viewing non-whites any differently. They will likely resent it and dig their heels in further.
I may edit this 5 or more times, but I only need to say it once.

right, no amount of marching or speaking will change the view of some people. can we call it hereditary or learned racism.
would I be right to say state sponsored racism would go back to the war on native Indians. that's to say the rumours and bounties and such fed into an environment where a native American could be shot on sight without fear of retribution (in most cases) and could even garner reward
to be fair, the actions of settlers and the land grabs would have made a lot of the native Indians look at white people as the enemy and would often shoot them on sight too given the opportunity or raiding parties
what we have there is two different types of prejudice. I think we could safely assume four hundred years of the same kind of state sponsored violence and national servitude has made a portion of Africans hate the sight of white people
and to be fair, the system has made a fair amount of Africans hate the sight of each other too, enough to be slaughtering each other for many decades
I think, if my memory serves a lot of the African gang culture in america can be traced back to the boy scouts. some Africans tried to join up and they were told no, not a hope. so they started to form their own
So, while I'm not saying you're wrong. because youre not. I believe if we (you the people) are going to tackle racism it should be done across the board through all the different identities. the question is how. I see you went some way to address that a little bit down in this post

I think yes, you do need for people to change their beliefs. but you cant make people change the way they think. I think given the right conditions : domestic, educational, employment, racism could fade away over a couple of decades
Condensing the labels or removing the labels will not cause white racists from viewing non-whites any differently. They will likely resent it and dig their heels in further.
I dunno that's accurate. Its probably not possible to test the theory anyway. I wonder if theres any models we can look at like NZ or Australia ...probably not Australia in fairness
while I agree with the post, I will say that if we are to have a conversation about racism we must (or should) talk about it all. not confine it to the sin of the white man. I do agree it's the white man's racism which is most prevalent and destructive
but like you said, none of it should be tolerated.

All your book releases are belong to ME! ~ Trump
Trump braces for series of unflattering books prefacing his reelection fight
A CHILL DOWN TRUMP'S SPINE: A series of books out this summer continues to pick at the scabs of the Trump presidency and threatens to inflame an already volatile president as he seeks to win reelection. Books by Trump's niece, two of his former national security advisers and our colleagues reveal untold stories about the president's marriage and alleged “Ukraine-like transgressions” to long-simmering feuds in the Trump family.
Our colleague Mary Jordan's book on first lady Melania Trump — “The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump” — was released yesterday to kick off Washington's summer reading list.
And an explosive tell-all from the president's niece, Mary Trump, “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man,” is expected to land just weeks before the Republican convention.
The president's second national security adviser, Lt. Gen. HR McMaster, has his own bookend to the summer out Sept. 15 detailing his 13 months in Trump's White House: “Battlegrounds: The Fight to Defend the Free World.”
Book wars: But it's John Bolton, the president's third national security adviser, who has set the White House and president on edge. His book, “The Room Where It Happened,” is slated to be released June 23, but the Justice Department yesterday filed a lawsuit seeking to block the already delayed memoir of Bolton's 453 days serving the president. The lawsuit asserts Bolton discloses “classified information — in clear breach of agreements he signed as a condition of his employment and as a condition of gaining access to highly classified information and in clear breach of the trust placed within him by the United States Government.”

I cannot get enough of this woman! She is brilliant!
Trump blocked Sarah Cooper on Twitter. Now comedian calls him her ‘head writer’
President Donald Trump and comedian Sarah Cooper really don’t care for each other. But these days, they are in perfect sync.
Cooper has become one of the hottest comics of the coronavirus era with her social media videos, in which she lip-syncs some of Trump’s most controversial pandemic-related pronouncements. With a mix of deadpan flair and exaggerated facial expressions, she has spun his headline-grabbing statements into comedy gold.
In “How to Medical,” she lampooned Trump’s comments at a press briefing at which he suggested to Dr. Deborah Birx, response coordinator for the White House coronavirus task force, that the virus could be attacked by hitting the body with a “tremendous” or ultraviolet light. He also suggested that “injecting” disinfectant into the body or lungs could “knock it out in a minute.”

I'm torn between the stack of unread Stephen King books on my shelf and a few of these you mentioned. There's only so much time in the day!

I'm torn between the stack of unread Stephen King books on my shelf and a few of these you mentioned. There's only so much time in the day!

Well only one is published so it's an easy choice! Unless you don't really care about Melania! If not, then proceed with King and and wait for the others!
I cannot believe Trump is threatening legal action to delay publications!

Speaking of. . . here's a video obtained by The Intercept in regards to police planting marijuana in a search. It's an example of a previous post some pages back in regards to the prosecution withholding of evidence from defendants to get them to plead guilty or accept plea deals.
Unfortunately, this video was not presented as evidence, and was only discovered two years later. And, yeah, these two assholes are still patrolling.
This is part of the reform that is needed.

Bring on a better screening process because we obviously can't rely on bad judges of character and corrupt authority figures. It's like Covid 19 - one infected person leads to many infected on a police force.

Guilt by omission is when prosecutors withhold vital information in relation to a defendant's innocence. This just burns me up. I would appeal; do something to exonerate my name. What makes this one so atrocious is that he was just released from the hospital and even showed the officer his wound! And yet they still took him down, which opened the wound and caused a five-day hospital stay, in which he was HANDCUFFED.
I swear I would sue for the medical bills and whatever else I could. Pain. Damages. And so on.
They. Would. Pay.
