That article alone is cause for major concern given how disproportionate arrests are of non whites versus whites. Racists have no problem treating people equally when it comes to sexual abuse.

Val, don't feel badly; many of these loopholes are kept buried under years of oppression by authorities. How many have been raped but refused to come forward because of that very loophole? The Brady List is another. If you research, you will be appalled at the numbers of police officers on the Brady List, who have been fired, charged with lying, etc., yet go onto get another job in another city like nothing happened. Or how those same police helped put innocent men away because prosecutors refused to divulge such information because it might hurt their case.
Not all police officers are bad; some are honest and upstanding. Others are not, and it's time that the "Brotherhood in Blue" admit that publicly, and commit to much needed change.

I've seen that happen to many people, Val. It's the environment they're exposed to for the most part. I was exposed to a lot; however, there was always love there too; and that's what saved me.
