FAS ( Federation of American Scientists ) has created the 'Coronavirus Project' as a means of combating misinformation. Please feel free to utilize the fuck out of this site to verify any outlandish claims being made as to its nature.
You can even 'Ask a Scientist' - More questions and answers can be found on our new Ask A Scientist page, where you can easily search our database of questions, as well as ask our network of scientists your pressing questions.
Welcome to the Coronavirus Project. This new initiative of FAS aims to debunk misinformation circulating the web on matters of public health and safety, as well as provide clear and sourced information for policymakers. Below, we cut through the noise to present clear information and advice for the public, policymakers, and reporters looking for scientist-led and evidence-based analysis. We want to make science accessible, so we are translating scientific papers full of jargon and shoptalk into plain language for anyone who wants to be in the know.

o_O 14th Episode of the Dark Horse Podcast kicks ass, particularly Heather's soliloquy:
I want to start by thanking many of the people in the audience who disagree with us about some or many points, but keep coming back nevertheless, to hear what a conversation between two people who are interested in discovering the truth sounds like. And, hopefully also to learn, to figure out where you might be wrong or we might be wrong. Where maybe both of us are wrong. Not just both of us ( Heather and Bret ), but your understanding and our understanding might both be wrong about something. We've heard directly from many of you and we appreciate you.
In the last couple of weeks, though, we've noticed an up check in people offering critique that isn't really critique. It's fascinating, really, what agendas and traits people will attribute to others when what they actually want to say is 'I disagree and I can't defend the disagreement.' So, there are lots of names for the various fallacies, ad hominem being one of them, when you attack the person rather than the ideas.
There may well be reason to disagree with us on any number of fronts. But, saying, for instance, as I've heard a number of times now, 'You have secure jobs so it's easy to defend the lockdown' is a non argument. Pointing out possible conflicts of interest for people making arguments is a legitimate approach. But this one isn't, nor is it accurate. . .[ insert more awesomeness ]
Get'em, Heather. Education is essential for a quality conversation.
They also address the Plandemic Video 'Fact Checking Judy Mikovits' at 29:00. Whereas two scientists excellently critique her points.

The blame game for COVID 19 is pointless at the moment - most world leaders were not prepared for such a pandemic and a very difficult disease. All world leaders would clearly experience difficulty. It's amazing that people make retrospective judgements only because they think that they would have handled the crisis, so differently - they wouldn't, they would also have made many mistakes as well. I think Trump is handling this crisis as well as I would expect from other world leaders. Finger pointers solve nothing and are part of the problem not the solution.
No world leaders are infallible and should not be expected to be so. For instance if we look at the input from the democratic party in the US. whilst Trump was banning flights from China the democrats were calling this action racist and inviting people to come on down to Chinatown for a street food party and saying that COVID was not that serious - How many people died purely as a result of democrats misinformation and Trump-hating rhetoric. The Longer the lockdown the bigger the second wave will become. The second wave will be the cause of more deaths as a result of COVID and many more deaths as a result of suicide, domestic violence, and the lack of medical assessments for cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Bottom line there will be more deaths regardless of what we do.

I Thought Stage IV Cancer Was Bad Enough
Then came a pandemic during the presidency of Donald Trump.
The good thing about having Stage IV cancer is that nobody thinks you’re bellyaching when you complain about it. It’s a field day for the discontented. You get to wander around muttering to yourself, “Stage IV cancer! Could it get any worse?”
Rilke taught us not to seek the answers but to love the questions. Good advice. Now I’m stuck in my house muttering, “Stage IV cancer during a pandemic! Could it get any—oh, never mind.”
I’m one of the people all of this social distancing is helping to stay alive, so far. I belong to the group of people—the infirm, the weak—who certain conservatives have said should offer themselves up to the coronavirus. I’m part of the “cure” that mustn’t be worse than “the problem,” according to Donald Trump. Glenn Beck seems to think we should show our patriotism by volunteering to be killed by the virus rather than “kill the country.”
I’ve come close to dying a few times, and I’m not afraid anymore, just sad. I’m like a war correspondent or an assassin—all I need is the call, and I’ll be gone in the night. I wish I had something helpful to say, now, about fear; for a long time, I was so terrified that I could hardly breathe. Somehow, you get used to it.
But if I die from the coronavirus, it will be one more unnecessary American death.

Not that some here would even bat an eyelid but I will relate my experience during this coronavirus time. Firstly I believe in and I'm practising social distancing, but I do not agree with such draconian lockdown policies. being in the vulnerable category I am alert and aware of the distancing I must do as I would probably be a fatality.
I do however choose not to live in fear. I died three times on the operating table during a heart bypass operation almost eight years ago. I have made peace with the idea of death and do not fear it. although I would rather avoid it if I can for the time being.
Just before the coronavirus hit, I had been suffering from debilitating coughing fits and presented at A & E - I was given a chest X-ray and a cluster of growths were spotted on my lower left lung. I was also waiting for a kidney growth spotted at an earlier CT Scan. My GP used the word "Sinister" when he talked about the X-ray results. He made urgent requests Hospital appointments For a CT Scan and an ultrasound scan for the kidney. Cancer does not have to be a death sentence if it is caught early. The clock is ticking and I have been told that both scans are on hold during this COVID crisis with many consultants and nursing professionals that are twiddling their thumbs in near-empty wards and surgeries asking the powers at be to be able to do essential tests and assessments of life-threatening illnesses, to no avail.
Maybe the corona virus wont kill me but the affects of this COVID 19 lockdown will?

Covid-19 coronavirus: Controversial bill passed to enforce alert level 2 powers
I completely agree with it for the protection of everyone. PM Ardern has proven she has her people's best interest at heart, and has at no time demonstrated an authoritarian nor dictatorship rule. Name one dictator who joins their constituents on facebook live nightly in their loungewear after putting a toddler to bed.
Also, the bill made concessions for the Māori, At the request of the Māori Council, the specific reference to marae was removed and the Government added the requirement a warrantless search be reported to the relevant marae committee.
No authoritarian nor dictator would care about their indigenous tribes. Look at what's happening in America for proof of that. One indigenous tribe received body bags vs covid-19 funding. ( Link somewhere in this or the first Covid-19 thread. )
The article seems to promote a lot of fear-mongering over what might happen vs what has actually happened.
Lastly, it contains a sunset clause:
The original two-year sunset clause has been mitigated by an amendment to see the legislation refreshed every 90 days, or longer if required.

I have had a kind of love affair for all things USA - I had an uncle and family in Dallas. I research American politics given that what happens there is soon to happen here.
Many Cancer Consultants have intimated that cancer deaths in the USA will get so much worse in the next five years - this also included deaths from other life-threatening illnesses.

Covid-19 coronavirus: Controversial bill passed to enforce alert level 2 powers
Has any research or predictions been done on the rise of non-COVID deaths resulting from the lockdown in NZ, or have cancer/other treatments and diagnosis been unaffected?

Bill Gates Has Regrets
Years before the Covid-19 pandemic, the billionaire tried to warn global leaders of the threat from new infectious diseases. Few listened. ‘I feel terrible.’
Five years ago, Bill Gates warned that the biggest potential killer the world faced wasn’t war, but a pandemic. The billionaire spent hundreds of millions of dollars to find faster ways to develop vaccines and create disease-tracking systems. He urged world leaders to build national defenses against new infectious diseases.

I'll be damned. I'd call in the National Guard and show these bullies what's what. There is never an excuse to threaten someone's life.
Michigan Cancels Legislative Session to Avoid Armed Protesters
Michigan closed down its capitol in Lansing on Thursday and canceled its legislative session rather than face the possibility of an armed protest and death threats against Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The gathering, meant to advocate opening the state for business despite the coronavirus pandemic, followed one April 30 that resulted in pictures of protesters clad in military-style gear and carrying long guns crowding the statehouse. They confronted police and taunted lawmakers.
