I think it would be useful to talk about definitions, as we see this word used a lot in these discussions.
The US ranks 'only' 15th in the world for personal freedoms, when a variety of metrics are used.
https://www.cato.org/sites/cato.org/files/human-freedom-index-files/cato-human-freedom-index-update-3.pdf
What some people see as freedoms I can't agree with, or can at least be tested.
For example, in my country, corporations can not buy the ear of politicians. You might see this as restricting their freedoms.
In my country you can't own guns in an unrestricted way. We see this as protecting the rights of people to not get shot while going to school. You might feel that your personal freedom to own a gun, and so have the worlds highest gun crime (with the exception of Mexico) as being more important.
In my country we see freedom as paying higher taxes, so no one ends up broke because of medical costs etc. You might see having to pay your share of taxes for the benefit of the community as hindering your freedoms.
In my country leaders are held to account for their lies, so clowns can't get elected to positions of power. You might see the ability to elect idiots to positions of power as your right.
In my country news outlets are held to account for peddling political viewpoints. You might see this as impacting on your freedom to hear only the news that suits your world view.
The concept of community includes by its nature some restrictions on personal freedoms, If i am free to rape and pillage, then the community breaks down, or becomes meaningless, so there are rules to punish or prevent it. In even the most 'primitive' communities there are rules about who can fuck who, as without this you get inbreeding which weakens the community.
The question of personal freedoms vs conforming to rules that make the tribe/society stronger are difficult ones.
Right now the US (not to pick on them, but the example is a good one) is really saying "it's ok for wealthy people to protect their financial interests by controlling the media narrative about personal freedoms, even though that means we will have the highest per capita death rate in the world, and the dead will mostly be poor or vulnerable people".
That too is a kind of freedom.
To wear Freedom doesn't mean unrestrained
Unfortunately freedom comes with shackles

Is this the new "Colbert Report?"
This is the World Health Organisation & Government guidelines. Everyone knows them off by heart by now. I'm gonna test myself on what I have remembered regarding current UK guidelines. Currently, we must only go outside for one hour a day for exercise, even though I broke that rule by at least half an hour the other day. We must only shop infrequently for essential items, like alcohol. Keep 2 meters apart wherever possible, erm...

That is both outrageous & irresponsible, Blackwolf & you know it. What is the big deal in wearing a mask? People are selfish, I'm sorry!
You do not have to be sorry , Billy , yet I disagree with you...
Val is similar...
And remember , our country rebelled against authority ,
in the very beginning , and whupped some asses to get
our freedom...some of us are more than like that now...

Yet you are missing the point. Your Government is trying to save lives with their advice. The consequence of that is that they want to track & trace our movements. That is going too far. I like my privacy too, like the next person. It's surveillance through the back door. Having said that, you & Val are not trying hard enough to keep yourselves & others safe.

Opinion , Billy...
You have no idea , really where I live , or how many people I see in a day...
Where I am now , until Thursday , I can walk miles
in the desert , without encountering one person...
Where I am going , same thing , just redwoods instead of desert...
You obviously are not keeping up on U.S news...
Even the asshole Trump , wants us out of lockdown...
