Words splashing across the digital screen, for what reason? Sharing some tragedy, beauty, love, emotion, desire. A chance to straighten out our random thoughts. For me, writing poetry lifts me, typically from one form of pain to another, as the focus shifts. Why do you write?

Sweet subtle dreams draped in words soothes the savaged soul, while bloody rage will out in rampaging words rather than ravenous wounds. Though at times it can make sense of this world with dutiful description and a sideways glance upon what was a random event but now a profound past moment.
All that, and it is also so very useful for bringing forth new worlds and old worlds into this one.

Your mind is like a mustle, and mustles deteriate without excercise. Creativity through poetry is great a work out for your thinking in general, & theres nothing wrong with thinking out stuff a bit every now and then (my opinion anyway)
its good to think about why we do the things we do and understand it better
great discussion
cheers

no, it's an organ but not a muscle.
(to make the gaps in between seconds smoother)
here,
i am forced to write more to attain the same sensation.
and no talking is necessary.
i'm just in denial about my competence
and importance.
no one is quite like me.

Haha anatomy all over again. But it's one of the best ways to be constructive with emotions you don't know how to handle compared to being destructive to yourself or others. makes life just a little more bearable

"Slay me first before you kill poetry."
Poetry is my therapy, and more so my lifestyle. She is me,and i am her.
Poetry is my first and my all time classic lover.Without her, there is nothing left of me.
She is the flavor of my beautiful existence, the oxygen in my inhaler and the stamp certifying that indeed i am alive!

It's health I'm just stating from a psychological point of view. It's like music with no sound, tranquilizing the emotion that we attempt to abandon

You ask "why write poetry," let me be a therapist for a moment and respond with another question, "why breathe?"

Poetry has become an obsession, addiction... It's helped me grow emotionally, mentally, spiritually even intellectually. Lol it's my fix to help me when I'm down or just enjoying the the ride my mind decides to take me
