The WAR(ld)
the world takes a shift

with the slam of a fist

a scowl graces the faces of those in power

a pissing contest ensues

and the world is held prisoner

a challenge set forth

to stay to the course

see to the end

to fight

and defend

with no rhyme or reason

we’re thrown in the deep end

drown

swim

or sink

but don’t over think

with your blinders intact

they force feed you the facts

believe all the lies

of why we must fight

pay no attention to

the strings that control you

puppet master pulls rank

and you fall into place

the power won’t yield

and certainly won’t kneel

to the anger

and threats

of a tyrants demands

level heads will prevail

the war chant grows stale

the mouth moves in time

to the overdubbed lies

blood falls to the ground

as egos stand proud

a smirk of approval

of mass human removal

with the slam of a fist the whole world take a twist

the face of the lie smiles all the while

as alpha males square off

innocence dies at the hands of arrogance

I hope you'll accept something based off the drug wars in Mexico... Still a very real thing... And the borders are a key point in them.

Not So Grande

The war plagues the Rio Grande
Leaving gory testaments in its sand
Telltale tire tracks in the mud
Places that are splattered with blood

A body  that washed up on the shore
Leftover from last nights horrid gore
They slit his throat, watched him bleed
Took his wife as a sex slave
No remorse for their deed

Snipers lurking in the bushes near
Striking the civilian heart with fear
Standing on the banks of the Rio Grande
In a moment could die at the cartel's hand

Storage Shed

Stone cold heads all in a row
Faces lined up against the wall
Some once a handsome fellow
Some scarred, some tattooed
Their countenance seems serene
Though their situation is crude
Eyes closed in deadly sleep
Not a tear, not a peep

Freshly hosed down
And placed so neatly
Yet the rancid water
Can't hide the stench of death
The cartels storage chambers
Of snitches and rivals
Not cocaine or meth

Headless corpses litter the floor
A gory mercenary with no respect
Only morbid trophies of rot and stink
Mingled water and blood
Remnants of executions
Innocents and traitors alike
Fallen to the same fate and plight

Here comes dragged in another load
More despicable decorations for this Devil's abode

Rags in the River

Raw across the fields, we ran
from gunfire to birdsong
the still of orchard
greening moss
timing nature's slower breath
by steady march of afternoon

The bloodiest stains
may never come clean
memories that cant be washed
'till death permits us to forget
a bitter mourning wasting lives
however just times seemed

Kids with orders
hugging guns
though when the smoke cleared
none of us were men
and whether ours or theirs
no-one deemed to care

For just a moment then
weren't we all one army with sole intent
dragging bodies breathless
like fallen fruit
from a world struck dumb
for a prayer

my war

what you screaming for?
i'm right here
thas jus how we talk here in ghost town
a motherfuckin shark ate me
you might even fuck a fat bitch or two

i think i'll go down to the shelter today
pass out the sweaters from when i used to be skinny
i wanted to do a lil spoken word
but without the likes of jessup
i thought it might be a bit preachy
he must be binging again
i always wonder where he gets the loot to do so
don't think i wanna know
but that animal
has talked us both out the cage
could have got us both a new whip by now
potential priorities
all that jazz

i had ten to sell
two to myself
i took twelve
course i'll make up for it later
i must be the illegitimate son of ol evil
i can get paid
gettin over on vehicles that don't run
like it ain't nothing
of course the tail lights work
jump in turn it to the left
ill go ahead and check
yep no prob were good
next thing you know i'm jumpin the turn styles
back to runnin a train on your mainline with el grande black balloon
me and tyvan
he must be satan's salesman
he sure as hell puts me on every single time

i tried to tell the preacher man
stay away from the street merchants
they mean more then just to solicit
redemption comes in many forms
you ain't jet li and ain't always gotta be the one
i saw his favorite chalace
while pawning my father's medal of honor
funny how that looks like an inverted pentagram
illuminatti
i think not
stars play tricks on you everytime
i re wrote some love letters today
better late then never is bullshit
at least you  tried is a goddamned lie
but i'm still here
not everyone would say it's a good thing
i walked into the ocean
after so many somas
i had no chance of swimming
woke up naked
next to an asian man on the beach
i was wearing a brand new watch
he had on alligator gucci loafers a fresh hair cut
never met the man before
but he apologized for my father's cancer
i knew he had his hands full too
so i just wished him well
and attempted to re climb that hill
one more fucking time

what you screaming for?
i'm standing right here
that's jus how we talk in ghost town
