What things do you take way too seriously that others don't?
What are some weird things that you take too seriously? Things that are out of the norm?
250 word limit... give or take.

On your mark, get set, go!
One week people. One week, and then your time is out.
Have fun.

Labels in society
Fuck society for all the things they have spoke
I hope one day their words they will choke
They have put a lable on me
Its way too late for an apology
They have made me a national statistic
No longer do they believe in individualistic
I have no longer a mind of my own
For we the people can no longer stand alone
I do not wish to be classified
For in which I should be able to decide
I no longer have the freedom of choice
I should be able to have my own voice
They treat me like a test subject
Stealing my thoughts for them to collect
I can no longer be the person I am
Feeding me bullshit like they give a damn
Many have paid for the freedom I've been given
Only to be limited for how I'm liven
"fuck society they can't have me,
I don't need society!"
I have fought for a better life
I guess I will have to wait until the afterlife
I won't be an outcast forever
For this society I will sever
I am tired of being what I'm told
No longer will I be controlled
For I am truly flesh and blood
I will no longer be ran thru the mud
I will stand up with my head so high
I will be strong to unclassify
To be my own person again
To free myself from their fucking playpen
We are all people they don't see
I don't think you will disagree
All of our voices should be heard
They want us to be quiet, and not say a word
I just have a message for those who rule
You are nothing but a fucking tool
So with the message wrote by me
I still don't need your fucking society.

Day of Silence
You see them walking, head down low
afraid they'll have to take a blow
the thing is, they're no different from you and me
you're the one who's to ignorant to see
you call them names and make them hurt
you beat them down, into the dirt
you glare at them as they walk by
you've clipped their wings, they can not fly
staying silent was their last change
and you don't notice the difference at first glance.
I'm tired of them being treated that way
so I too will be silent today.
I'm tired of your violence
I want you to think about the silence
think about the voices your not hearing today
that silence has so much to say
it wants you to stop and think
it wants you to help them when they sink.
For now the silence has begun
someday, maybe we'll stand as one.
Until that day will you cause the silence?
Or be the one who ends the violence?
You see them walking, head down low
afraid they'll have to take a blow
the thing is, they're no different from you and me
you're the one who's to ignorant to see
you call them names and make them hurt

Freedom of Choice
lucky are those who were born free,
but senseless--forcing others to take it
our very own cognizance of freedom
may differ from those we want to impose
while we clamor for gay and abortion rights,
and other human rights so many to mention,
do you really think other people care
when all their concern is the right to exist?
do you believe we're truly an advocate for freedom
when we encroach on foreign lands to satisfy our craving?
we just feed the needs of everyone's lust
for absolute power and total control
we look dashing when we arrived on sheep's cloaks
while eloquently spreading words about democracy,
yet, don't you think we are trampling upon someone's rights
when we leave them no choice to embrace ours?
those who accept our trade with open arms,
and support our ideologies, are friendly allies--
but how do we treat and call those people
who are innocent and peaceful, before we give them a living hell?
have we not learned from history?
from time immemorial to present generation
nobody wins a war--except for battles fought,
but the war mongers and entrepreneurs standing tall
from the dense jungles to the rugged mountains
down by the raging rivers and valleys of death
our young soldiers bravely marched and fought
losing their limbs and precious lives for naught
as long as we are in the business of war
and our greedy hearts don't fail to sustain,
then my dream of peace and freedom to choose
drifts with the wind, and buried in the abyss

What a great poem, and excellent choice of entry.

" The Freaks"
dirty little freaks
chillin in the streets
weirdos in they're DNA
outcast are here to stay
no one gives a damn
about filthy little lambs
but that's alright with them
they're glasses fill the brim
laughing at you mocking them
scraping resin from the stem
fuckin creeps tarnishing our kids
popping the top of prescription lids
smoking cigarettes like some cheap whores
turning tricks for fun not more
didn't your parents teach you right from wrong?
fuck no i was raised on death metal songs
just the future fuck ups of today's society
like people these days know anything of sobriety
that's a bad influence on my daughter.. that's bullshit there
haven't you ever wondered why she always has fucked up hair?!
judge them all the time
cause we all know they commit crimes
lets not ask them why they do it though
cause then we might just have to know
why these troubled teens have become unstable
lets just ignore them and give them labels
ignorance is bliss for us, insight is the truth
id rather hate inside the delusion of a lieing sleuth
mistreated souls finding solace in the night
kissing darkness finding hidden light..
smiles and stitches
among all us twisted bitches
fuck the normality's of everyday
grind the weed and pass the tray
light my fuckin cigarette
and we'll dance our own minuet
don't need no fucking proper serenade
we'll have a sinners masquerade
and let the haters hate
cause after all, antipathy is our best trait
