Retrogenesis
She taught me not to fear death
It’s just part of living
Now every time that I go and visit her
My soul hurts and heart sinks
She’s waiting to cross that bridge
Gone are the stories she used to tell
As far back as 1936
All the great details she could recall
Are now but soft flashbacks of mystery
I kiss her cheeks and forehead
Her smile and childlike eyes know who I am
The skin on her hands is paper thin
Soft and warm under blankets
Fighting the impending cold and darkness
An internal silent battle is raging ...

Pugilist Theory
Slipping on a banana peel total disgrace
Southbound rocket is drifting out at sea
Tragedy crawling across his wicked face
Cruel intentions for those who disagree
Violent whispers in a radioactive breeze
Digital parasites corrupt a fragile mind
Pigheaded fascist spreading his disease
Day of the dead blind leading the blind
Empires fall history has taught us that
Continuous circle repeating the mistake
Good folks starving while greed gets fat
Murder the dream the system will break

addiction
his desires
which were hidden
in his passionate tongue
clung to her flower,
under the soft moonlight
when he opened
her enclosed rose-red flower
with his tongue
his eyes shone
like the morning sun,
wowwwww....
when his lips
clashed with
her slightly moist petals
and when his predominant need
began to drown in lubrication
the intoxicating nectar
sprinkled on his beard...

can I sue the library for back pain?
I swear these library chairs
are designed to make people
want to spend the least amount of time
sitting around on laptops
and utilising the free wi-fi
I've been here 4 hours and my back aches
I swapped out my shitty desk chair
for a comfy chair
which only looks comfortable
but is akin to lounging on
a fancily upholstered rock
It's a toss up to whether
it's better to be at home
on my broken bed and noisy neighbours
or to be here wriggling around
on a colourful rock with no obvious distractions ...

Crush Crushed
I turned around
And there she stood.
My mouth dropped open
And at that moment I understood.
She looked at me
Crinkled her nose with disdain
Spun around
Leaving me feeling the pain.
And there she stood.
My mouth dropped open
And at that moment I understood.
She looked at me
Crinkled her nose with disdain
Spun around
Leaving me feeling the pain.

Milky Way
We are cosmic dust
Part of the original creation
We are made of stars and planets
And everything spread across the great canvas
Compiled into sentient beings with the capacity to love
We are children of the universe
Descendants of galaxies and constellations
Waiting to join our brothers and sisters in the sky
While our eyes will be filled with awe and wonder
And until that fateful day
We’ll watch the stars here at home
Here, on the Milky Way

Journey to the Stars
I borrowed the titles of her poems to reflect
To connect
Wondering why the universe took her away
so soon
But I’m still in awe
Admiring the mystery
Marveling at the beautiful poetry shared…
Maybe we’re all meant to meet at these crossroads
Make impressions in each other‘s lives
So that when our time arrives
We’ll be able to contemplate the meaning of it all
And we can say
We were poets in the time Eerie
Right before she took on her journey to the stars

Pre-Web Years: Social Media
My childhood social media
could be measured in inches
all colored, rectangular magazines
some as big as 10 1/2" x 14"
and as small as 5 ½” x 7 ½”
delivered every month
by hardy, blue uniformed postal carriers
One favorite,
“Sunset” was in our home a staple
a pretty thick, glossy depiction
of how the best American westerners live
perhaps in a replica,
upscale Hopi Pueblo style compound
appropriately located in the Painted Desert
cacti, tumbleweeds. Lizards on the ground
kaleidoscopic...

Saints And Sinners (Stairway To Heaven)
Soar higher toward the covet of the surrendering moon
Rest your heart in solitude, desolate gone too soon
Where minds once caravaned over Egypt sand dunes
Bathing our dreams in the depth of the Nile
Wishes ordained worth the while
Promises we gave unto as paradise danced in our eyes
Absence we felt as hearts whispered its goodbyes
Your wings flapping as destiny shall continue on
Reminisce of once was, sings the lyrics of yesterday’s song
Your greatest courage, your unwavering strength
Our hearts, our passion, fused as...

A Disturbed Mind
WHO really knows what goes on inside some people's mind, thoughts of them fighting and killing at well against imagines, that only they see in the dark deepness of insanity. For it's true as hell has finally broken wide open, by the actions of some people's, bringing death and destruction, that is seen in todays society. For sure society has really grown cold as ice, with some people's filled with rage and anger that you take a chance, to even go outside, 🤨 to catch a bus or ride on a train or going for a quiet walk, just to breathe and feel the sun upon your s of skin and face....
