Forward through the fog
O darkness...
Ink of eve.
will of the night
where shadows thick fall like fog
smothering clarity and thought
where do we perceive
cohesive directions
receiving such lashes
the white light collected candles
keeping vigil in these halls of serpentine
these wiggles those twists
sit secure on every little stretch
as I swing between a balance
of defending or chasing
I tilt my head to the side
like a dog on this wire
wandering wondering
ready to run
bogged down before I've begun
stuck in the mud
amid
the oceans drift
washing
wishing away today
accumulating yesterdays
when all I need is now
those eyes and a smile
where if time stands still
or bends get rough
it is enough
to see for miles
Ink of eve.
will of the night
where shadows thick fall like fog
smothering clarity and thought
where do we perceive
cohesive directions
receiving such lashes
the white light collected candles
keeping vigil in these halls of serpentine
these wiggles those twists
sit secure on every little stretch
as I swing between a balance
of defending or chasing
I tilt my head to the side
like a dog on this wire
wandering wondering
ready to run
bogged down before I've begun
stuck in the mud
amid
the oceans drift
washing
wishing away today
accumulating yesterdays
when all I need is now
those eyes and a smile
where if time stands still
or bends get rough
it is enough
to see for miles
