Growing up in a small town was very hard for me. It was a very lonely time. In fact the only person I would consider my friend was my pet hermit crab, Herbert. I did poorly in school. I did not even have any hobbies to amuse myself with. Everything changed the day I watched my first anime. It was something different, exciting. As I indulged in more of this beautiful form of media, certain things became slowly became apparent to me. It was not I who was the freak, it was everyone around me. I was stuck in a small town that seemed to value and cherish their ignorance. I did not have friends because i was so much more intelligent than them and they could amuse me with intelligent conversation or engage in my witty word play. I was failing school because it was not a challenge for me and could not hold my attention. I started to write poetry and write lyrics for melodic death metal songs and my life finally seemed to be looking up. And one day I realized I would not be completely happy until I left this barbaric American town and move to Japan. As I teach myself the language, I pass the days by idly writing poetry, until finally I am ready to sell my WoW account for a plane ticket to the promised land. There in Japan I will live the rest of my days blissfully writing poems and hand carving anime figurines in the scenic country side.
