Justin Burggraeve AKA Kris Dow (jumbled from skid row) was once a greedy, ultra violent, money hungry criminal who wouldn't piss on the less fortunate if they were on fire.  when a turn of events placed him homeless, pennyless , mentally ill, and severely addicted to drugs and alcohol on Vancouver's Downtown East Side(Skid row), he learned compassion tolerance love and understanding for the less fortunate.  He has been living in shelters, on park benches, in hospitals, on church floors, in bug and rat infested slum hotels at main and hastings (pain and wastings) and in back alleys for the last half decade while trying to recover from addiction and multiple concurrent disorders including Bipolar disorder and PTSD.  He writes about his life and times as a way to cope, calling it  his passion and therapy.  His hope is to open the eyes , awaken the minds and bleed the hearts of people who are ignorant to the struggle of the people whom he has common struggles.  He was the star of Conviction Kitchen Season 2, he has been published in megaphone and voices of the street, and currently is working on a novel and anthology of poems and prose
