gathered
summer
waits outside,
its breath
beating down
on the
rooftops,
in the
beginning
it was
pleasant
company,
now
its stay
overbearing,
open
the windows,
let in
the winds,
the rain
responds
to all
the rude
sun's

The Braille of Wind
There's something different about the wind
that's travelled a long, long way
and a weary heaviness
as if compressed by the weight of miles
yet full of exotic scents and ozone
Eagerly you face the breeze
now caressing your face as you wet your lips
tasting spices from high desert plains
and sun baked granite cliffs
There's tang on the tip of the tongue
alkaline, dry and brittle yet with the softness
of thousand year old dust
desiccating with love

Today's Weather
Cloudy with a chance of bitchy rain,
blowing both hot and cold
Bring sunscreen and an umbrella
gentle loving warmth,
interspersed with freezing sleet
Bring a bikini and a pitchfork
Mercurial temperatures developing,
stepping outside could be life threatening,
like throwing a toaster in a hot tub
Bring flowers on bended knee,
seek forgiveness from the powers that be
Perchance with appeasement
the storm will relent
and the sun will emerge with a smile and sex

in truth
my night
black,
a thing
to hide,

A Windswept Butterfly
I'm like a butterfly
Often blown askew
In a fluttering wind
As i flap amongst the morning dew
Caught on the breezes
Swaying to, and fo
I have nowhere to hide
And nowhere to go
My flourescent blue wings
Collide with a bower
I thus fall to the ground
Upon a fine flower
I sup upon its nectar
So divinely sweet
Restoring my strength
For every wing beat
But my wings begin to fray
Tattered, and torn, in complete disarray
And i know one day soon
That i'll sinply be blown away
As i weaken further ...

i stood there, staring
from the wind-swept beach,
enjoying the emptiness
and the sounds the water made,
there is no one around,
i feel free,
