Stay Away From The Tracks
A teenage girl somewhere anywhere was busy text messaging friends on her cell phone several months ago.
She was walking along a set of railroad tracks.
Although deaf since birth, she had frequently proclaimed that she could avoid danger more easily then hearing people.
She was much more sensitive to vibrations, especially from approaching trains and those roaring train whistles.
She was wrong.
She was mangled beyond recognition.
They were able to identify the body, since her i-phone survived the collision.

Art, Decay, Seeing in Perspective
I ride subways often
Most stations are acceptable
Then there’s the L Train
Union Square
14th Street
Crimes against cleanliness
Old tile walls
They will never be repaired
Disgraceful
Yet …
There’s beauty too
A wall so tired and beyond salvation
An artist like myself captures it
Presents it for your viewing pleasure

The Buttonholes
Remember me
in the morning
as if the ground
of the city
disappeared
under your feet.
Let your gaze stay
in the upper left drawer
amid the cutlery.
Make it look like
you've forgotten a detail
when the train doors open.

1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi
Rising from the dust of chalk,
1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi,
and 1 frigging bag of Cheetos.
Who gives a rhinoceros?
Ask the fool,
who Thomas Jefferson was?
He can't recite the Pledge of Allegiance
but he knows how many chicken wings
are in a bushel, that Peter Piper picked.
With his one tooth, he looks like Ollie Dragon
and his bottle of Jack Daniels is dry.
Jesus lives in Mexico and Rooster Cogburn is the guy.
1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi,
and 1 frigging bag of Cheetos.
That's all folks! ...

a fear of falling
positioned myself
where I thought the gap between the
train and the platform would be narrowest
escape I’ve ever had

Azuls de Barrancas del Cobre (Copper Canyon Blues)
Azuls de Barrancas del Cobre
(Copper Canyon Blues)
Dusty Chihuahua desolation
At lonely train depot
Desert crossroads for rail journey
Arrival
Copper Canyon is cantina calypso drums
On the slopes of the valley spirit
and the manger in a holy hostel
is a bunk bed for my blue traveler soul
Where a feminine voice sings from above
A rosary in Spanish timbre
As I sink into a paradise of lullabies
To her novena nirvana
When the sun returns like a prodigal son ...

Tunnels
Having sunk to the bottom, to the trains,
you manage to get into the last car,
and stand against the window;
starts dancing overboard.
But it’s not the seams of the tunnel that flash,
but it’s not the networks of wires that run,
take a closer look - this is how time passes,
take a closer look - this is how the years fly.
And already in the dark reflection,
a larger-sized silhouette stands,
it’s good that you can’t see how
painful it is.
It's good that flickering
behind dark glass erases...
you manage to get into the last car,
and stand against the window;
starts dancing overboard.
But it’s not the seams of the tunnel that flash,
but it’s not the networks of wires that run,

It's good that flickering

Here I Am Ready To Catch The Last Train
I do not believe this!
Here I am ready to
catch the last train
home and it left the
station before I got
the chance to get
on that locomotive!

catch the last train
home and it left the
station before I got
the chance to get
