Poems about Trains and Railways
#trains
Poems about trains and railways, here you'll find poetry about trains and train journeys. Poems about famous railways, steam trains, modern train travel and long distance train travel adventures.
Rapsody flababous.
All for the better part
Of day of the school work
In summer of the April
I lie woth of the bridge
In the tiny tinnale
Of the long weekend
In the woods of the
Courage
Frantic longings of
Course my ebb,
We know the truth
Moon is onto
Woven on wood
I would like to see
You on Wednesday
At noice of course
Goose Creek in the
Bridageage of the
Bait for long
Of the Bank of
Black River that falls
Callous on the road right to
Terrain of coffee house
In the earnest of Sunday ...

It Was Indeed Juicy
I was on the subway the other day, standing 6 feet near to this guy.
We were just moving out from the Dekalb Avenue station.
He cuts a huge juicy fart, then comes diarrhea out his pantleg puddling on the subway car floor.
He turns to me and says, "shit....i'm really sorry", as many folks move to the other end of the car, forsaking any six feet "distancing". Above his mask there are tears in his eyes.
I says to him, "Don't sweat it, friend. It could happen to any one of us who has an asshole. G'odd bless ye"--------------> thank goodness for our COVID...

The 6:66, Express To Hell
In the fading last light you're stumbling in the smoke of imminent doom
Trapped in a subway to nowhere, that's more akin to a maze, or a tomb
And there's a shattering shaking, as the earth is quaking under your feet
As you look for a way out, but there's no escape from a permanent sleep
And then you're turning a corner and ahead, slightly ajar, there's a door
But when you pass through there's no stairwell, there's not even a floor
And there's naught but air 'neath your feet and then a slope of a funnel
As you uncontrollably spiral, but there's a...

goodbye woman, hello lonesome drifter
drifting charcoal flowers
invade smiling dreams
nectar of bittersweet corruption
tasted
fuel for
the old rusty blues
and twilight
turns her face
into night
a wolf's paw
burned up into
the deepest reaches
of the sky
riding a freight
train
against a backdrop
of soulstreaming stars
sitting
on top
of the world
again

nectar of bittersweet corruption

URCHINS ON A TRAIN
Come! Come on!” “Come!”
“Run faster!”
One after the other
They race past me
Giggling, elated, winded…
“Come on!” They call after their gasping mates.
One grasp the ladder
The other follows the foot of the other
“Hop on!”
“Come on!” Self-proclaimed leader implores.
Haha!
Like tiny packages
They load themselves neatly on top of the carriage
And,as if amazed by their mastery
For a moment they pause
Look down from the rusty roof
Then break out laughing, clapping, howling…
(Like a poorly...

head to the station and ask for a ticket
to paddington. chap behind the counter
questions if the journey is really necessary ?
I say yeah, I can't get there without it ..

UNITED
Waiting on the platform
for an overdue train,
hearing a voice full
of trauma and pain,
coming from a seat
beside a Banksia tree,
hiding behind branches
for no one to see.
A stranger was drawn to
the soul touching sound,
sat himself down by the
trunk on the ground,
taking a huge breath
he began to sing,
“With this simple song,
healing I bring.”
Using no other words
just chained melodies,
clear notes held with
vibrance, intensity,
raising up high then
delving deep below, ...

EXPRESS TO THIRROUL
Xanthorrhoea flower stalks
stand camouflaged amongst
bare branches and dead trees,
while Gymea Lilies release
their blood red claws
amongst burnt bark,
blown by cyclone winds.
Dusty and dry, the
undulating treetops
cry out for rain,
gullies of tree ferns
scattered with white
Pittosporum, spread
amongst the gums of
Helensburgh,
thickly forested slopes,
occasional cabbage palms
heavy with fruit,
new fronds glistening
in the end of winters’ sun.
Lantana buffers the
railway line out of...

funny how time slips away
sitting in the park listening to georgie fame
and the blue flames in the dark as
to where it all went

There Will Always Be Trains
Ever since I fled out to the country
To fall asleep in nature's softer bed
I no longer hear the low rumble sounds
From the humming hive of the city
accelerating, speeding, frantically
away into some unknown distance
toward some unknown emergency
Instead, I hear the melodies of rain
Orchestrating puddles under rooftops,
Bouncing off the branches of willow trees
And a distant train at random hours; sings
A train that for my benefit doesn't know
It should be a low rumbling sports car, hello?
In the twenty first century
