I want to capture your beauty,
Not as an artist, but as a poet.
Let the love songs be sung by others,
Let me speak to your soul in words
seldom used.
I break out the violin bow,
For your heartstrings scream to be played.
God, I see you,
Pushing me toward Him,
Even as I try to turn and run.
You’re the moon,
And I’m the ocean,
Trying to avoid your gravitational pull.
You affect my tides,
Twice a week,
Yet I dream of you,
And still, I turn from the path...

I'm never up in the morning.
Unless I'm about to go to bed.
And, I prefer it at night.

Bring me the dawn
Though my longing wanes
Fading like a candle guttering in the void
This darkness is not of night
But of silence—vast, endless
A chasm where voices are swallowed
Where echoes are entombed
My road remains unwritten
A path unspooled into nothingness
Promises once spoken now ash on my tongue
Dreams once held now smoke in the abyss
A covenant sworn beneath celestial fire
To walk among the stars
Now broken, now spent
Cast to the gutter with the last ember of my cigarette

14th Thought From The Couch
Aspire to be here.
Underneath a warm blanket of sheets.
Resting from a weeks strain.
Discoveries of mindfulness to clear life’s unpredictable pain.
Turning side to side.
Catching the views of the black mirror playing.
At times turned to the right side for a nap.
Just to think when will my body fully sink in.
Submerged in a warm blanket.
Meditating gives the overthinking of one’s mind rest.
No matter the season the sun could burn the man on the couch from the window.
Get up.
Peer through the blinds.
Only to see a plain...

A tall glass of water you are”
The words I had no control of
Marooned at Wolfstrap
Except I wasn’t trapped
The bar partially empty
I had drank a few
Before I met you
You helped me sober up
And got me home
Alone I had felt
