World Of Music
If I were to live in the world of music forever.
I could feel however I want.
I could be happy,understood.
And be anything I want.
I could have magical romances.
In ballroom,romantic dances.
I could feel like someone understands.
What I did in the past to stain my hands.
I would be able to rise and fly.
And I would never feel sad or cry.
Because I could listen to the lyrics all day.
Who tell me that they understand, and it's okay.
If I were in the world of music,I would have someone next to me. ...

Music Stories Episode 7 (Queen - Show Must Go On)
Welcome to music stories. I’m you host, Damian DeadLove. We’re back on track tonight, I apologize for the creative misadventure of episode 6. But enough about the past let’s move forward, shall we?
Tonights band is the one and only, Queen. Huge fan of this band they changed the music scene through innovation and vision. It certainly helped to have one of the most charismatic front men ever. But the other three guys were brilliant in their own right. The four of them together is summed up by one word. Legendary!

Music Stories Episode 6 (Neil Young - Mr.Soul)
Welcome to music stories. I’m your host, Damian DeadLove. Tonight I’m gonna try something a little different from the past episodes. This is kinda a lyrical deep dive concept.
Let me ask your opinion on something. Have you ever had a song that you lyrically connected to? To the point you almost felt as if it was written for you, or possibly about you? I’m sure you probably have, I know I’m not the only one.
Now obviously I know it’s not written about me. Doesn’t change the fact I relate to the words, and how they touch my soul. So tonight’s artist is Canada’s...

Music Stories Episode 5 (Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot)
Welcome to music stories. I’m your host, Damian DeadLove. Tonight’s artist is, Pat Benatar. One of my listeners asked me about doing a story on her, well I got one for you. I’m a fan of Mrs. Benatar for sure, I dig the 80’s. Well maybe everything except Reganomics, and a few other miscalculations that era made. But musically speaking it was mostly stellar.
Pat Benatar’s career started in 1979 with the release of the album -“In The Heat Of The Night”. Which spawned the singles, “Heartbreaker”, and “We Live For Love”. The latter song was penned by her lead guitarist, Neil...

Music Stories Episode 4 (The Doors - Light My Fire)
Welcome to music stories. I’m your host, Damian DeadLove. Tonight’s band is, “The Doors”. I’m a huge fan of this group since the first time I heard them when I was 13 years old. Which was many, many, summers ago. They have such a distinct sound, mainly because of the organ. I’m convinced that’s a big part of it, but it’s not the whole picture by any means.
The Doors, formed in 1965. After some early lineup changes, these four men are recognized as the members of the band. They are: Jim Morrison - Vocals, Robby Krieger - Guitar, Ray Manzarek - Organ/Keyboards, John Densmore -...

Music Stories Episode 3 (Blondie - Heart Of Glass)
Welcome to music stories. I’m your host, Damian DeadLove. Tonight we’ll be talking about a band called, Blondie. I got into them when I was a teenager, but I also remember hearing them on the radio a lot when I was a child.
Then I was a closet fan for many years. I was a metal head in high school which pretty much meant you’d get heckled to death for listening to anything else. I sure don’t miss the many cliques that happen in school.
Blondie, was formed in 1974 by Singer-Debbie Harry, and Guitarist-Chris Stein. They dated and were even married at one time....

Music Stories Episode 2 (Kiss And The Psycho Circus Debacle)
Welcome to music stories. I’m your host, Damian DeadLove. I got an interesting story tonight that kinda makes my blood boil just thinking about it. Our band for the night is “Kiss” but more importantly the “Psycho Circus” album. Now the band it’s self is kinda hit or miss with most music fans. In fact most either love them or they hate them. Without much room in the middle.
First off I gotta give you a little context here. Kiss, with the original members is the big deal about this album. The original line up played together from 1973 to 1979. They donned their signature...

Music Stories Episode 1 (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
Welcome to music stories. I’m your host, Damian DeadLove. I’m here to share the knowledge I’ve learned over many summers. There will be different flavors to this show I’m sure. I was a lyricist on the local scene off and on for the last 30 years. So music was a huge part of my life. But at the end of the day I’m still a fan. So let’s dive right in shall we?
This first episode is gonna be kind of a light hearted one. It’s just about common misconceptions that casual fans sometimes assume to be true. I’m not pointing blame or thinking less of humanity for getting information...

List #10 Favorite Quotations
1. "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how many calories you burn playing the game." - Me (probably many others too). I think this to myself when my aim is off on the basketball court.
2. "You sir, are drunk!" "And you madam are ugly. The difference is in the morning I shall be sober." - Sir Winston Churchill. Slay. Major slay.
3. "Have you ever noticed there aren't any rocket scientists named Wendy?"- David Letterman. Made me laugh when he said it as a throwaway line on his show years ago. Not one of my favorite quotes,...

Silent - The Concert
Two Years Ago, Gavin
Friday, day of the concert. Jace seemed jittery. Lucy still wasn't answering her phone, he told me. By now, she would be back in Yorkshire. At quarter to one, he took his seat in the audience and I went to sit in the Green Room behind the stage before my turn.
A couple of people performed before me. I was due on last. In the background, I heard applause, followed by mentor Dawn voice whispering my name, telling me to go on, wishing me the best. I opened the door and stepped out. Walked over to the grand piano and took a bow. Warmed up with a...

The Music Game Is Rigged
I was in the middle of writing a poem to post, however, a rant came to mind because of the poem's subject matter, music. Sure, that doesn’t shock anyone who has read my work.
Anywho, I might finish the poem because I know poems get more comments than prose on here, or so it seems in my short time at DU. Most the time it’s a feeling thing that makes me choose which form I use, and prose won out tonight.
So here’s the skinny. It’s really kinda sad that music has to be a business. What’s it cost to write a song? Nothing, not a fucking thing. It...

Hungry Eyes 2
The window of my soul exposed, in the midst of time
Slowly closing the portal to my heart, mind as my soul gradually ascends above the stars
The element of such a beautiful clandestine oath
Abandoned in the reality of truth
Claimed so gently in the heat of the night
Forbidden tender whispers
Surrendering wants, as needs gently meander over my silken skin
Indenting the blissfulness of its undeniable flaming desire
I feel the rhapsody when you call out my name
In each lyrical heartbeat...
