Fear holds in the rest
Humans shuffling past me like corpses to stupid to die
Their clothes hold their guts in
Fear holds in the rest
Running like rats
Scurrying through waste paper and filth to their holes before the sun goes down
They have umbilical cords of sewage wrapped around their throats
Choking on life, nursing their wounds
They'll tell you that they're loving every second of it
Just like prisoners come to love their captors
Just like roaches in a roach motel
Tasting the poison, telling you it's wine

was all it took for billionaires to win
the war they waged on freedom's ringing dream
to escape from Europe's wages and sin
and next you know they'll elect the shooters

Buyer's Remorse
When the candidate that you voted for has major flaws
they can't be returned via the lemon laws
Even if you have justifiable cause
life is not a VR game that you can reset or put on pause

No Remorse
After a late night of partying
This one girl brings another girl and a guy back to her apartment
The girl wants to be kinky & have sex in her baby's crib
The girl forgot to have a babysitter watch the child when she went out
Their all high on meth
The ignorance & stupidity of this entire ordeal was that the 6 month old baby was still in the crib
The next morning the baby was dead
Apparently the baby was smothered to death
They all served time
The mother though was sentenced to life in prison
She had no remorse

Crystal Ball
I’m twelve hours ahead of the whole fucking cluster-fuck and tonight I’m was feeling a bit knackered. I stare at the ceiling listening to my music. Something in it, earthy and electronic, tells me everything is alright. It doesn’t make sense, it just makes me think that. That’s all I need tonight, and any night. Neither is there sense in who we just elected but that’s OK too. It’s going to have to be OK. The inconvenient truth in this liminal cycle for all of us is that no one has a crystal ball.
