Like Job...Or Jeremiah UPDATE: COVID-FREE
Where is God in all this?
The fire three weeks ago forced me to leave my flat.
I'm not only homeless (due to the neglect of others who overloaded the electrical circuit);
I've just tested positive for COVID.

Quick Update
Hi all,
I'm still homeless, unfortunately, due to the fire on March 6. How fortunate I wasn't present at the time! My GP has confirmed I'm suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The panic attacks are pretty intense.
I'm in hotel accommodation (pretty expensive), and am uncertain of where to go from there. I miss posting here and expect I will soon enough.
Hope to connect soon,
Lozzamus (Lawrence)

temporary shelter (living in parallel)
I dreamed I was a homeless
Ukrainian refugee
in a camp outside
a grocery store
that had no gluten free options
for me to eat
Someone gave you a red lunch box
big enough to fit a sandwich
on regular sized bread
and you were excited it came with free cutlery
I hugged you and said
"I'm tired of being homeless"
And those words
were the only truth I dreamed

The Forgotten Ones
Is the thrill gone away
Do I have nothing more to say
This is the day I have silently prayed never to come
I cannot hear the beat of my own mental drums
My mind is trying to stay afloat
Waves rocking against my paddle boat
I…
Do you see what I mean
My thoughts have never been this far in between
However, I’m somewhat tinkled pink
Fingers gliding as I think
Giving everything, I got bedsides the kitchen sink
Is the thrill really gone away
Is this the day I have nothing else to add or...

Important Update
Hi, yesterday my home caught fire (thanks to an electrical malfunction in the flat above), and I'm staying in temporary accommodation for a while. The experiences has left me shaken up and angry, and I'm struggling with panic attacks. This means I'm not really in a position to post creative writing - at least, not yet. I look forward to posting as soon as possible and I thank readers for their previous feedback. I hope to connect soon.

Finale
Thunderstorm without,
And all these city lights
Blending neon watercolor:
Kaleidoscopic sight.
The drops, in rhythm,
Tap the pane;
Now and then a thunder crash
Bellows it’s refrain.
I stand alone,
Within this busy home;
A final breath to breathe,
Ere again I must roam.

farmlands
The Farmland
The mid-west of the USA flat plain many farmers
tilling rich soil; red barns under a blue sky.
The community thrived, cows and horses in the fields
the Amis people lived nearby in peace with God.
There was harmony here and whispering grass.
Agricultural – business moved in, bought up land
the farmers could not compete and sold out.
Empty barns, fading colours, falling into disrepair
No cows in the field, no horses or dogs
Silent despair of ruined homesteads hangs
In the bitter wind telling of failure.
This is...

The Cosmic Hobo
The Cosmic Hobo
Beer fumes on the hobo heaven run
In our orphanage where grey is the color
For grown children of the night
When lightning cracks my veneer
With the truth that I will ride
That freight car to New Orleans
In all its cavernous graffiti
Until my whiskers populate the universe
That has come to be home
Beer fumes on the hobo heaven run
In our orphanage where grey is the color
For grown children of the night

Avenue Gone
Avenue Gone
Congress Street, Portland, Me. 1986
Bus flight to Hades
Calcified soul with luggage in hand
Arrival at midnight at gate #9
Departure by shoe
Where all bees buzz to the news
That Jesus was a lost soul too
In the vortex of human sanity
But tonight the traffic in my heart
Is the only noise on the avenue

the brown bear
The brown bear
During Yeltsin years when he sold Russia down the river
People in the west loved the brown bear
we patronized the Russian as vodka swilling village idiots.
The cuddly bear died, and a steely-eyed fox to the helm
and the Russians was no longer cuddly.
The Russian federation was no longer willing to play
the game ascribed by the western press no longer willing
to be pushed around and laughed at.
Putin, the fox, turned Russia into a modern state that has
a modern army that is powerful if stirred by the west.

The world
What's happening to the world today, why are we so greedy?
While we sit and squander in our palaces not bothering about the needy,
They have no riches, they have no homes, they have nothing, they stand alone.
So while we are eating and stuffing our faces faces, people are starving in other places.
While we sit and squander in our palaces not bothering about the needy,
They have no riches, they have no homes, they have nothing, they stand alone.
So while we are eating and stuffing our faces faces, people are starving in other places.

A Girl on a Street
Lovely thing
I saw you both times
And you saw me
I saw a part of you
And you saw a part of me
The others said move on
They said she’s gone
I kind of knew
What they meant
She smiled
Looked right through us
A kind of ignorant bliss
Is that what you really think?
My muse of today asked
I gently said no
It was all very sad
Somewhat terrifying
Another human soul on the heap
She was the kind of girl
Who might talk to animals?
And understand...
