I am a most beautiful

Firelight
It fills the gloomy room
with a soft light
chases away the fright
if only for a little while
Rekindling a smile
while my mind wanders
once again ponders
the meaning of things
As my creative wings
fly into the night
in pursuit of the write
such ever elusive words
Tallying stars in the sky
answer every question why
so I can fill these vacant lines
awash in freshly spilt ink
Leaving me to now think
about Homeric times
about unending rhymes
as they ignite in the firelight ...

We gather around the flame
chant these words we know
while ancient winds do blow
whisper a forgotten name
Feeling the warmth on my face
as the rising flames dance
defying both death and chance
transcending time and space
For the wisdom from back then
joins me in the here and now
higher than the highest bough

As the bonfire burns bright
against the black backdrop
with a will that will never stop
setting ablaze this magic night
No longer afraid of what will...

Play With Fire....You know the rest
A 38 year old woman in America doused herself in gasoline and lit herself on fire in protest of one of those yearly Miss America Beauty Pageant's. Before lighting the match, the woman shouted slogans criticizing the pageant's exploitation of woman. Her last words were reportedly, "WATER! WATER! WATER!!"

Pipedreams Of A Dragon
We're all secretly failed dragons
Us smokers, and ex smokers
Still hoping that our flames
Will one day ignite
And at last
Fireballs will shoot forth
From our now firey breath
But all we failed dragons can manage
Are wisps, of whispering smoke
Sometimes emitting
Creative circular clouds
That spiral upwards
As they fade away
Like dreams

From an smouldering briar

an exquisite dame indeed
with a soft ember wafting from your soul
seducing my sub-conscious..
with a nurturing verbiage
draped in never-before-seen footage
rekindling a sacred relic
that something absent in the-man-eye
nursing my blind spots

making me hot under blue collared mannerisms
