Last of His Kind
Last of His Kind
When the earth thawed,
Mammoths found their personal Manhattan
in the Pacific Northwest
but with their own trumpet
instead of car horns.
Mammoths were among the original vegans
and the island was like
getting to raid the 24-hour salad bar
on a cruise ship.
They were luckier than pigeons in Yankee Stadium
with walnuts as leftovers instead of popcorn.
The hairy behemoths became grandparent figures
for the humans.
Thereby the sacred purpose of the lumbering beasts
no longer required...

I don't know a lot but I question the universe
Everything between alpha and omega, is it a script, should I rehearse
I ask myself questions that concern I Is Me
I really want to know what is and isn't energy
There is no doubt that lightning and the Aurora borealis are energy sources
Iceland has found ways to use it's thermal forces
All around Holland, they have learned to use the wind
The sun has proven that fossil fuels are never needed again
But what is life, this grabs at our brain
Could it be as simple as energy contained ...
