BEAUTIFUL LADY
I
know YOU sometimes
think of yourself as over
the hill; the wrinkles and
and unwanted bulges in
your body causes you to
think and utter words of
self-rejection...you "hate mirrors."
IN
the zones of middle age or older
you have retained the amazing
twinkle in your eyes; the suggestive
smile on your face and glow of
your desirable and kissable lips.
YOU
have been blessed with wisdom to
accompany your beauty; your passion
is overflowing with a fire that can only
grow hotter with age and being...

She Was Never Alone
She was seven.
A little Black girl in a world too heavy for her small frame,
Too sharp for her soft hands,
Too cruel for a heart that only wanted love.
She didn’t belong...at least, that’s what it felt like.
Floating through her own life, a ghost in her own skin,
Scared. Lost. Disconnected.
The nights swallowed her whole,
Darkness pressed against her like an unwanted touch.
The world wasn’t safe.
The monsters weren’t just under the bed.
They had keys to the front door.
Spoke in whispers when Mama wasn’t home.
Mama was always...

The One I Let Go
She was a quiet kind of beautiful,
the kind that sneaks up on you,
like when you finally clean your room and realize
damn, this place had windows the whole time.
She would change her hair, her clothes,
her laugh, her favorite shade of lipstick,
spinning like a broken Rubik’s cube,
hoping one day I’d figure her out.
But I was too busy looking past her,
searching for something I already had,
too scared to hold it, too dumb to say it.
I loved her—God, I did—

Best Wishes
I truly wish
Of a beautiful bliss
Where you fly free
As well as all others
No accountability
We fly
Into the light
We got nothing
No worry,
NO STRIFE!
I’m here
Your fucking life
Here I am
Goddamn.
NO STRIFE!
let me fly
into the night
with no worry
with no strife
NO STRIFE!
i am
i am
holding on
(to) your nothingness
your nothingness
your void
your void
your strife
your STRIFE!
Of a beautiful bliss
Where you fly free
As well as all others
No accountability
We fly
Into the light
We got nothing
No worry,
NO STRIFE!

The blue flowers in the kitchen thrive
in the shade, and fading day is welcomed
In days of pain, mortality is not an intruder
Old battlefields have the greenest grass
bodies going back wench they came
the blue flowers in the kitchen look lovely.

SURPRISING TASTE
I
had often wondered
what it would taste like.
When I first saw it, I was
impressed with its' smallness,
shape and beautiful color.
WHEN
I finally decided to imbibe
the outer skin was so tasty
and the deeper fruit was unique
and delicious.
I
have enjoyed eating kumquats
ever since. Meet me at the
Kissing Place and we'll eat
delicious kumquats...my mouth
is watering...PLEASE!

Embrace
We live, we die
Survive, fly high
We breathe, commence
Between, we sense
We fight, we win
Our rights within
We see the grace
Let's all embrace

Between, we sense
We fight, we win
Our rights within
We see the grace
Let's all embrace

Love blindly
INSIDE ROARE
Love blindly
When the shadows are creeping behind you, it's further away.
When you come closer, it's lost .... suddenly.
I miss the gentle touches of your fingers, how could I lie.
Suddenly, the presence of the two of us.
It's sweet, bitter and burning at the same time.
You hide a mysterious soul,
I don't want to be the other,
You just add fuel to the fire.
uuuu uuuu uuuu
What does your heart look like, does it hide a piece of space.
Where to hide the gem that I press in the palm of my hand. ...

Waking Up
What if all this misery.
Was as simple.
As getting the dose.
Right.
I'd be aghast at the stupidity of it.
If it were true that.
These doldrums.
I keep wallowing in.
Were just a balance of
Neurochemicals.
In my brain.
That I never got.
Quite right.
Maybe the despair was less poignant.
Less precise.
Than an equal measure.
Of a bitter pill.
Where does my inspiration go.
For these bleak little snapshots.
Of my private life.
These odes to anihilation?
I might have...

Wanderers on the Edge
Fingertip reaches—glass-fractured sky,
but the world keeps turning, indifferent, blind.
We watch, we wait, we sift through the ashes—
searching for warmth in a fire long gone.
Ghosts of wanting drift through the ebb,
feet sinking in time’s marrow-thick river.
Clawing at the hilltop, slipping, gasping—
but do we climb or just fall slower?
Love hums then shatters,
echoes down corridors we dare not tread.
The oaken river swallows its dead,
birds fall southward, wings brittle with regret.
Winter comes for all—darkness...
but the world keeps turning, indifferent, blind.
We watch, we wait, we sift through the ashes—
searching for warmth in a fire long gone.
Ghosts of wanting drift through the ebb,
feet sinking in time’s marrow-thick river.

flashback
old eyes
filled with
autumn colors,
the skin
of the hands
showing the
silence of the afternoon,
imagination
of youth,
creating a tingling
sensation on the skin,
the slimy fingers
touching the depths,
trembling groan
like thundering cloud,
restless hunger,
thighs shivering
in search of satisfaction
flow of the velvety river...
