I heard it calling deftly,
this inner resevoir
of all I had overlooked
and simply ignored
though it swallowed me;
corroding my innermost reaches.
Its voice was wavering
giving me no assurance
that it would contain me fully
and teach me anything
I wouldn't learn by
easing into something
new.
I took an unnerving swan dive
and swam into a vastness,
my perceptions clouded
until I only felt a tingle
of the deftest poisons buoyancy
amidst glittering foam.

able to contract words
elongate the hours
Dance between the showers
of a sunny summer day
sweep me far away
to years long gone by
Allow me again to try
to somehow forgive
to perhaps relive
an age of innocence
Before all this penitence

in this brief recitation
just another time dilation
linguistic yet so relativistic
