Invocation
Give me the true poet's simple mind devine
where lyrics come tripling in off the tongue
and syllables ringing with chime of rhyme
come tinkling musically in verse of song,
Where pianos softly lead " Drink to me..."
or an overture starts up, a vigorous one,
with loud cymbals sharp symbolic clash of glee
and ringing booms of huge kettle drum...
As clappers cracked more musket shots
great drums whooshed out huge cannon balls
tempo blocks stampede horses and the poet
Tchaikovsky is...
