Purr
Rub my belly
That'll make me purr
Turn me into jelly
Make my feline mind a blur
But don't kid yourself
You won't get anything more
I'm independent
You'll make me go to war

Father Tyme Brings Young Lions
Once upon a Tyme
I was a Fearsome Monster
Once upon a Tyme
I was a Sho Nuff Beast
Once upon a Tyme
I could walk into a room full of Strong Men
And they would step aside for Me
Then Father Tyme came to visit me
Now
you can still see the Shadow of the monster
And,
sometimes, the Shades of the once mighty beast
But now,
when I step into a room full of Strong Men
It is I,
who stands aside for these Young Lions

by rations
limited that make me bolder;
too soon i
find that failure is a raper
to ruin my
feet short of their high skyscraper.

though an uphill climb forever,
shall earn me
all the fruit of my endeavour;
sharp bruises

Here I am a witness to what GOD can do for as I pray for another TOMORROW. 🙏 FOR AS I SIT HERE AND TRUST MY GOD, as I place my FAITH, 🙏 WITHIN ONLY YOU. FOR as much of what I've been going through, with cancers of different stages from prostate cancer, to kidney and bladder, and tumors of the brain, and lung cancer, you have always been, there along with MY WIFE AND FAMILY AND FRIENDS. Tired As Hell, But I Can Take It
My get up & go
Got up and went
And it's not coming back
Like an absentee father
Who went out for smokes
Leaving a single mother
To raise my inner child
My Outer Adult hurts like hell
A soul-pain that permeates my entire being
Man, I wish I wasn't so Goddamn tired
No amount of Energy Drinks can start my engine
Left idling as Time grinds the gears
And again I'm going nowhere
Forward momentum
Raging retrograde
Rocking back & forth
In the fetal position
As the World comes crashing in around you ...
Got up and went
And it's not coming back

It treats everyone equally
It cares nothing for outfit or experience
It says loudly,
"Welcome to your workout.
You're 4 steps ahead of those folks still
'finding the time' to walk thru the door."

On the resilience of it
I watch raindrops
kissing my window
hear softness
tapping on glass,
I wrap myself in
this small moment
as I douse myself
into my cool bed
immersing my
raging skin in
the safety of it,
my thoughts turn
into salt water, my
body passes on
to the next wave
I lean into silence,
knowing how loud
the world is slowly
turning on it's axis
I remind myself
how my mind is
a blank flag,
how my body
turns into a riot
never stopping ...
kissing my window
