Poems about Death
#death
The broad subject of death, including grief and memorial poems when losing a loved one. Also concepts around death in wider society, fear of dying and what happens after we die. These poems may be dark and full of sorrow.

Nan’s Funeral
It was comforting to know
she spent her final days
in a place as lavish
and warm as this,
the care home off the motorway
and opposite a graveyard where
I went with her once to place flowers
across her second husband’s grave.
This lavish estate of houses and
a huge facility of rooms around
a central hexagon arranged,
alarms and nurses all about.
We went here on a hot March day,
like summer in truth, and filled
with a scent of cut grass, the warmth
a little much in our funeral clothes,
but oh so...

Presumed hunger
Premeditated situations
and pre-cooked annihilations.
Preheated eliminations,
precepts, losses, predators,
nothing changes the colors of poverty.
Chameleons are the rich ones
and they change, change color
and change again to a color they don't have.
The rich eat poverty for breakfast
so let's change directions,
change emotions,
and let's eat the rich
even though the rich are poor
in nutrients and proteins.
Since they have many colors,
we will eat them with our eyes
and season them...

afraid
after twenty days in icu I'm weak
barely cohesive
I'm afraid I'll die if I sleep
that's the truth
I fought so hard from the edge why?

They Live where Love abides
They are not really gone unless you choose to forget
the thoughts and moments we never regret
clear as crystal they always remain
bringing up smiles that eases the pain
we may think of changed worlds moved on
with death the bond is truly gone
but as stars in the night they continue to shine
the walk with them are forever mine
my tales keep them present and well
living in the stories I chose to tell
the laughter after the times we fell
rings in my heart like a distant bell
they are not gone just away reside ...

Goodbye Gene Hackman - Part 3
Gene starred as Lex Luthor three times.
And he starred in "Behind Enemy Lines".
His death was hard for his fans to face.
He's gone and he can never be replaced.
He was a talented actor who was clever.
It's sad to know that he's gone forever.
Respect was something that he earned.
Gene perished and he will never return.
It's heartbreaking to see such a man die.
He was a terrific person and that's no lie.

That Dark Door
Gracious, she sips the wine,
as if a blushing bride,
delicate as morning light.
They both know there is
no stopping now.
Inside of her, he is
born again and again,
Her innocent infant lips,
seek the nourishment of love,
a lifetime's feast in a moment's dance.
They writhe and flourish—
blooms in time's vast garden.
When the dance ends,
she steps through
that dark door,
where all must go.
as if a blushing bride,
delicate as morning light.
They both know there is

Eternal Night
In grace, they bloomed, life's tender breasts,
Their strength, their love, in our hearts impressed.
Now, like stars at dawn's first light,
They've slipped away, into the eternal night.
Their strength, their love, in our hearts impressed.
Now, like stars at dawn's first light,
They've slipped away, into the eternal night.

On The Brink (collab with DamianDeadLove)
It's arriving today
Our own extinction
Created with hate
For evil we annihilate
Been digging graves
Under a blood red moon
Until the enemy caves
Falling like a lead balloon
Filling our lungs
With winds of death
Crushing our bones
And burning our flesh
Air raid siren screams
Feeling panic build inside
Acid infested streams
Death rolls in with the tide
Our world is under siege
Because of "their" reign
For those who survive
Nothing but torment,...

Rest In Peace, Mom - Part VIII
It was twelve years ago today when I found you dead.
I knew you had died because you were lying lifeless on that hospital bed.
I bought you a card and a toy easter bunny that were buried with you.
If somebody ever says that you meant nothing to me, it won't be true.
When I prayed for your survival, I decided to beg.
You died after the surgeon amputated your leg.
Even though removing your leg improved your chances of survival, you still died.
When the surgeon operated on you, he couldn't save you even though he tried.
Your life ended and you entered the...

Where I live
Used to be a farmer used to till the ground
now my tractor's silent
i can faintly here the sound
that memory of my father
as I sat on his knee
while he taught me the value
of the planted seed
used to be a milkman used to be your friend
used to be something I'll never be again
used to be a teacher used to mentor kids
really thought it mattered then it all came to this
had to buy the...

Blood flows
Her blood flows
the last beats of a heart compose
a symphony of fear that echoes
the moon hangs in hallowed night
a blade glistens in the light
A sexual sacrament
blood and cum, life and death
thrusting through her final breath
dripping our souls upon the altar
licking lips to taste the rapture
His blood flows
rushing through veins it goes
chasing the feeling that grows
the mystical mysteries of life
erotic is the edge of my knife
