The cryptic word
does long to be heard
intent on seeming innocent
within these lines of verse
For better or for worse
these predictions
share their maledictions
in an ominous way
Unlike the words we say
the ones we now write
haunt the restless night
with each spill of bled ink
Leaving us on the brink
of eternal resurrection
or deep dark insurrection
depending on how we recite
A most perilous delight
blending us with its ending
a most literary omen

Inkantation
How then to truly tell
about each poetic spell
conjuring all I then forgot
to remember all that is not
Whisper these weaving lines
again show how each divines
how the words will flow
revealing all there is to know
About each dark secret
steeped in a deep regret
about each poetic spell
conjuring all I then forgot
to remember all that is not
Whisper these weaving lines
again show how each divines
how the words will flow
revealing all there is to know
About each dark secret
steeped in a deep regret

The Gain of Loss
How then to get across
what is to gain from any loss
the addition of subtraction
how to lighten the load
Brighten all that is told
in the book of dark shadows
reciting every single spell
reveal what it cannot tell
In its old occult ways
about these modern skeptic days
what is to gain from any loss
the addition of subtraction
how to lighten the load
Brighten all that is told
in the book of dark shadows
reciting every single spell
reveal what it cannot tell
In its old occult ways
about these modern skeptic days

Temptress in a Tempest
A squishy cloud
yet she
wanted a storm." ~ nikkmoe
I love to challenge it
the pretty clear day
in my usual way
raise my sleeved arms
Invoke all of my charms
to evoke
to summon
command the very sky
Letting them know why
I still rule
every sage or fool
who thinks they know better
Control all such ill weather
with a wave of my hand
let them all understand
the depth of my power
Ever stronger by the...

Dark Designs
Here within these lines
are such dark designs
penned by a poisoned heart
spilling such a toxic bleed
So caustic to the page
with each line I engage
scalding words flow
boil with a vengeance
For deeds left undone
under a thinly veiled sun
never do inspire
leaving the heart unblossomed
While I search for symbols
still wearing these thimbles
to protect tender fingers
from touching thorny truths
Diving deep where it dwells
casting these poetic spells
I now recite...

Cauldron
these intrusions of wet growth
liable ruddy pineapple spiky
friendly sweetness pouts
lightly wretched from
twilight oh of a
so clear you
belong
you are a pathogen of pyramid
you foreign blink of yelling
a field of artichoke urchin
must purple winery crush
of juicy loneliness
a cauldron of how
of oh oh oh
yellow be
scalding
clover can it love
can it please
proclaim its
mind
october mount october opens
the lids to other
to eccentricity

before time was invented
Before time was invented
A long time ago when our world was much bigger than it is now and had a landscape pleasing to the eye and no steep hills to climb Since seasons had not been divided into summer spring, autumn, and winter, the weather was mild and no one knew the what a day was when it rained, not too often people walked outside and took a shower.
The land was full of potatoes, carrots, and beans as for meat there was Dogger Bank with millions of cattle and wild hogs, no one was going hungry A man from Glendale was walking across a field to meet another man to see...
