I'm Back Again
Enough
When is enough enough?
When is too much booze,food,sex, possessions ever enough?
Can you have too much sorrow?
Too much joy?
Joy that only arises when you've experienced sorrow.You can't know one without the other.Take sorrow away and you take joy away.
Enough already.
Can we ever drink,eat,screw or own our way out of sorrow?They are all false dawns.
Don't you get it?
Chasing desires is the cause of all suffering.Yours,mine, everyones.
Just stop it now.Stop chasing...

A Faustian Dream
Behold the loutish MAGA derision
as specimens of imbecility
marked by a semantic imprecision
yoked to emotive volatility
and a co-occuring need for action
in the to and fro of their Adderall
foundering for instant satisfaction
in conservative seas of folderol
said to be legitimate worldview
by people enslaved to a joystick
and techno feudal endorphins askew
reinforced at every media click
to warrant their manipulated thoughts

Young Man’s Game
Will Mother Maybelle
miss
me
when I’ve
gone?
Perhaps not.
Regardless-
In no more than
twelve
years
Time, there’ll be a
new, fresh-
faced upstart.
and while my hopes so dear

may no one remember for to shed a

pieces

true to a foregone narrative—
long ago

Games Up
When did it happen?
There must have been something or someone that turned 8 billion of us into consumers.
Which country set us on this path, where day by day, we take more from the planet and give only rubbish and our broken bodies back?
I'll take a stab in the dark and say the USA set the trend and we all will follow to the end, like cultists,trapped by a charismatic leader.
Algorithms now work us over from sun up until sundown,silently, skilfully curating everything we do,see, eat,watch and buy.For capatilists,happy times,they have reached...

Peanut Butter Sandwich In Parliament
he strolled down the lane
taking peanut butter sandwiches
to the prime minister, while
whistling a jaunty tune, about
fool's gold and a baboon.
he knocked at the door
from the chamber there was an uproar
switching off the telly, labor
wanted jelly, to fill their fat bellies
and as for the torries, they
want to regal him about war
and past glories, while they
jumped into foxholes, smearing
themselves in marmite.
a comedy of errors, a cast of characters
that were caricatures of themselves...

Spirits At War
Spirits At War
When I looked into your eyes
sometimes I would see warmth, compassion.
Other times I would see death and destruction.
I never knew which it was going to be
when I looked at you and you looked at me.
For a time I lived a lie in red anger.
Out of viciousness I believed it was always lies, cheating
and I hated every one of you.
Since I have realized through others that my belief is not so true
and therefore not fair to despise all of you.
Now my beliefs are based on percentages.

The man opened the newspaper
To see how the world had changed
Since yesterday's newspaper
The paper wrapped round his face
Filled his ears
Covered his eyes

Skin
Feel comfortable in my skin
My skin is flaking like I’m a Mummy
I see the cells in my epidermis
Clock is ticking but I disagree
In the long stretch of a Kentucky Derby
Camera flashes looks like we have a photo finish
A nose just above the finish line
You are crowned with Roses
But I feel comfortable in me
Fireworks in the sky above me
I crawl back into my skin
My skin saves me from bad weather
In the final quarter we are striding 12 legs strong
