Revelations (Framed Daylight)
So many things I had thought forgotten
Return to my mind with stranger pain:
Like letters that arrive addressed to someone
Who left the house so many years ago.”
― Philip Larkin
In a still moment, I heard them
within a profusion of inane other things,
Burning, caressing absurdities
with their persistence, their announcement.
Why must I endure them; they only mock
my sentience with their grandiose visions
spilling forth...

Come closer fog
Come closer fog.
Roll nearer over that stunted and familiar landscape.
Hide from my sight the trees I've know from seed and know too sure will die.
Obscure this day from me, born yesterday, already birthing my tomorrow.
Come closer fog,
until your cold grey fingers stroke shut my eyes.
Make the march of time not a river advancing but a calm ocean
and remove the ground from beneath my feet.
Free me from my tethers of determinism and fate
the causes of all we do and the effects of all we make
from the certainty that morning follows...

Dull grey skies
Dull grey skies
Like thousands of grey snails
Sliming around the day
Moving slowly
Wondering when I'll see one single
Glittering Ray
To inspire me
My eyeballs search the day through
But none come nor go above the horizon
Leaves me to search for rays hidden
In my memory
Like thousands of grey snails
Sliming around the day
Moving slowly
Wondering when I'll see one single

Blue skies back home
Drinking this natural blue sky soda
In the warm blanket of the sun
Thinking about the blue skies back home
Blue skies above home
Blue skies that are light blue and delicate
Like a new born' s innocent eyes
Light pale blue mists above the horizon
With cloudy white smearing it
Abstract white cloud forms
Smeared all over the place
Like a kids finger painting
Poofy bold cloud lines
With smeared crosses and jagged edges
Abstract shapes
Bold poofy characters
Reminding me of monsters
In my closet, when I was young
In the warm blanket of the sun
Thinking about the blue skies back home
Blue skies above home

Walking through night
In a fog,
in a haze
Walking through the black dense night
Walking through this chilly night frost
In a daze,
my body tired and heavy
Wispy haze above me, following me,
Floating my way
As I count the golden
Overhead street lights
One by one
They twinkle yellow
Circular bubbles glowing at me
From above they seem to pop
Like my tired eyes,
Watering now
Staring too much at
Floaty yellow outlines
bubbling up again
Above my head,
my tired eyes squinting in the light ...
in a haze
Walking through the black dense night
Walking through this chilly night frost
In a daze,
my body tired and heavy
Wispy haze above me, following me,
Floating my way
As I count the golden
Overhead street lights

The Clouds
The clouds wander endlessly
Drifting lazily in space
Rolling in the azure sky
Cotton candies floating by
Like rolling hills they move away
In a slow processional way
Clouds of foamy white and gray
Paints the sky on a sunny day
Drifting lazily in space
Rolling in the azure sky
Cotton candies floating by
Like rolling hills they move away
In a slow processional way
Clouds of foamy white and gray
Paints the sky on a sunny day

Morning Light
The light kisses your skin like morning dew,
And weaves intricate patterns across window
Panes. It leaves imprints on your soul as you
Smile, following its soft climax and crescendo
With your delicate fingertips, watching it dance
Across the hazy horizon like a majestic flamingo.
It is like life gives me a gift and a second chance
To enjoy the simplest pleasures. In these seconds
I am enjoying this peacefulness before the trance
Wears off and goes into the wispy clouds. Weapons
All forgotten about as the light calls me and...

Wishing For The Rain
The sky was ashen
Densed with gray clouds hovering
Ready to spill rain
I had hoped for a downpour
To feel the raindrops falling
But it never came
It was only a shower
Too little to soak
The flowers and leaves of trees
Too scanty to drench me wet
I felt like a child
Wishing for a heavy rain
To feel that magic
That sense of childlike delight
That only a rain can bring
I miss those moments
When rain was a source of joy
To my young spirit
When drops of rain felt so soft
On my skin...

Golden Mist
euphoria
in moments sown
a golden mist
of feelings blown
in paradise
whose rivers flow
through fields of reeds
in evening's glow
exploring the
sensory rush
of air warmed skin
amidst the hush
as mind keeps drifting
in between
tumbling thoughts
caught in a beam...
euphoria
sensations shower
and fountain too
which overpower
apprehensiveness
and gloom...
in paradise
they have no room -
euphoria
whose golden mist
penetrates

Wish
I’ll wish upon a star when I grow up.
A nurse’ry cloud will have a child for me
And bring her down to earth in a teacup,
Unless it brings a boy instead of tea.
I’d wished upon a star when I was 3,
To let me have a yellow puppy when
I slept among the presents ‘neath our tree,
To be the one to hug it first thing then.
I wished upon a star because I lied
When I forgot to feed my little friend,
And Dad found my pet goldfish on its side.
I was ashamed, I’ll never fib again.

My Dear World
There are times
the Beauty of
my dear world
still shines so
bright it makes
me wonder how
there could be
any darkness in
the whole world
