Dull grey skies
Like thousands of grey snails
Sliming around the day
Moving slowly
Wondering when I'll see one single
Glittering Ray
To inspire me
My eyeballs search the day through
But none come nor go above the horizon
Leaves me to search for rays hidden
In my memory

This reminds me of “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” by Wordsworth. In the last stanza he talks about glancing inward to find solace when none is to be found elsewhere. Nice piece.
