There's a silence When I view the clouds That doesn't happen anytime else. The rolling anvil-heads And sky wisps The cirrus And the cumulonimbus Bathing in the sun's light. The sun burns at 9940į And yet the rays Are this pale white yellow Soft and still And I lose myself Looking at the great mounds of white and grey Millions of pounds of water Illuminated and bright Because it is all impermanent; So much presence, floating, That won't be there if the wind Blew quickly for an hour.
