your love alone
a garland cinquain
kiss me
like that once more,
that i may know how deep
the fountains of love’s aquifer
reside.
reside
where shines the sun,
ere morning arrows past
and too soon evening covers me
with gloom.
with gloom
shall i not walk,
though heavy shadows stir
an appetite for requiem.
begone,
begone,
sad countenance!
what now the warbler’s song:
your song alone of love shall yet
my heart,
my heart
re-elevate.
for it esteems...
kiss me
like that once more,
that i may know how deep
the fountains of love’s aquifer
reside.
reside
where shines the sun,
ere morning arrows past
and too soon evening covers me
with gloom.
with gloom
shall i not walk,
though heavy shadows stir
an appetite for requiem.
begone,
begone,
sad countenance!
what now the warbler’s song:
your song alone of love shall yet
my heart,
my heart
re-elevate.
