Cinquain Poems

#cinquain

Cinquain, invented by Adelaide Crapsey and inspired by Japanese haiku and tanka, has a number of variations:
Cinquain - five lines in a syllabic pattern of 2, 4, 6, 8, 2.
Reverse cinquain - five lines in a syllabic pattern of 2, 8, 6, 4, 2.
Mirror cinquain - two five line stanzas; a cinquain followed by a reverse cinquain.
Butterfly cinquain - nine lines in a syllabic pattern of 2, 4, 6, 8, 2, 8, 6, 4, 2.
Crown cinquain - five cinquain stanzas, constructing one larger poem.
Garland cinquain - series of six cinquains in which the last is formed of lines from the preceding
