A Bleak Reminder
Just signed on today
A bleak message in purple at the top of my screen
The end of our site expires in 18 days, 18 hours and 56 minutes
Now every time we sign in, our eyes will be drawn to this message
A saddened community awaits for their number one poetry site to be laid to rest
So many talented artists from all over the world, I've met here
Hands down, one of the easiest places to write, communicate and navigate freely from one subject matter to another
There are many "good" poetry sites out there
But nothing comes...

It’s Here And I’m Still Scrabbling
Dear Betty,
I’m writing this letter to formally say, thank you.
Thank you for your hard work, dedication attention to detail as well as your constant efforts to keep me on task and up to date with edits. Your dedication to time lines and support when I didn’t think I could make the schedule made this super easy, you carried my ass the whole process, leaving me to simply write and edit. While it is a collaborative book in terms of writing all of the effort of creation, poem selections, pairing of pieces, collating the making it cohesive, on top of finding a way...

IF YOU WERE A ROSE
IF
YOU were a
rose I'd spend
hours admiring your
beauty, your color,
your open petals
the exotic scent and
aroma from your
stems; even the prick
of the thorns would
feel good.
IF
you were a rose I'd
water you, feed you
care for you and protect
YOU.
BUT sense you are more
beautiful than a rose I
will double my care, love,
desire and pleasuring of YOU.
OKAY?
YOU were a

where you once stood
the book on Bluebeard you held
as I hoped you would.
No-bodies else, ever going to care for his dynasty
and not now,
on how it had once a hold on you,
as you once had a hold on me.
How you carry other namesWon’t you stay for tea,
wishes a tri-seminar
on your natural plea,
sign away your limited company.
You can afford the case but not the violin.
so nigh to night; a sconce so big to hold
up a burning tree ...

Wailing Notes And The Quiet Beyond Them
I stretch in crisp air
it’s so sharp it burns
I’m here haunting the grove
sun cutting through trees
in an elegant arc of beautiful
I watch phone-screen-zombies
lurch through the cascade of light
hunkered against the glow
as if it alone provides warmth
locks on the case pop
the first note cries out
the sax’s curves as familiar
as walking
like sex beneath my
calloused fingers
I wait in the preternatural silence
drama in the scattered...

Golden Wings
each day my eyes
look to heavens horizon
while God hugs my soul
thru His grace and luv
I can feel your heart
hugging mine so tenderly
visions thru closed eyes
sacred memories of you
still brings tears within me
majestically singing hymns
in a gown of pearl white
with golden wings you appear
before I awaken from slumber
peacefulness covers me
with a blanket of luv from you

intensely quintessential
yet gracing in minimalistic
magnetic sanctums
ahh.. what are you..
drawing wholly
as a soulful pull
your-
(mirroring truth
.. prickly thorns in adorn
a natural salt n pepper scape
that I yearn to be in a chaos
of an adsorptive~ absorptive
abrasive immersion
drinking in
your spiced saltish succulence-
an albuminous manna .. with
an eternal nectarine, a holy yellow yolk
in an ecstatically...
