A-a-adrenaline

Something about seeing the water droplets
of the biting winter rains
Dappling the brackish bay
Cold with runoff from the snow-capped mountains
Icy chill livening the lungs…
Raising the thrill of startling Adrenaline
Rushing through my eager veins
Its urgent command to pull the paddle hard
Through the blackish depths…
Board and I charging, cutting through the calm

According to your
bylaws I am supposed to
care about things of
dire importance to you.

Ever think that I give no
fucks about your interest?

Grimacing as I pretend to
hang on your every word.
I am doing exceptionally well
juggling the words and
keeping my eyes open.

Living in Color

Blue. What does the word mean to you? A color? A feeling? Maybe you think of water? Or sky? Is the word kind to you? Really it’s a very simple word. Not ugly. Not especially pretty. Certainly not long. I’m feeling blue today. The sky is blue today. I cried blue tears that flowed from my blue eyes today. I read a book by a blue river. Is this good? Is this bad? Or simply is this?
