When Worlds Collide
Her world
at that moment
was her friends;
their animated conversation,
the joy of movement,
perhaps too,
somewhere,
thoughts of unfinished homework
an unreciprocated crush,
her parents' marriage or divorce,
maybe some musical artist I don't know the name of.
My world
at that moment
was begrudged playground duty
Wondering how I was going to get copies made,
when my prep time had been cancelled all week
And more immediately,
guessing the airline
of a plane flying overhead.

at that moment

Lack of Curiosity
An inactive population is the key to government control
You pathetic humans rather watch someone's life on a smartphone
Than participate in your own
Mentally you feel helpless
Physically you wanna a give up
Government pricks price healthy food so high
Dollar stores sell you toxic stuff
They drug your food at your job
Mix hormones in kids lunches at school
Don't say no to the pill, it's good for you
Boys become men and grow up muscular
Short tempered and fucking dumb
Girls become women and develop these outrageous curves ...

Your parents have a problem and you live in constant pain
Your atmosphere is darkness as you begin to go insane
And the way you're going, you'll turn out the same
You hear the words of wisdom as you practice what they tell
You follow your parents teachings, as they threaten you to hell

My advice to you, is to follow what's in your heart
For if you don't, you'll be finished before you ever start

Fares & Stairs
We must adjust our sails when the win(d) shifts
Sometimes changes of courses are divine gifts
Gotta sift through the rubble to get to hidden gems
When it feels like we're drowning, we must begin to swim
Whether breast stroke or back stroke, the stroke is a must
Going for broke cause loss of hope is a choke and a bust
Lust for success cause stress leads to impotence
Stay grinding and climaxing perseverance
The expense of living some days are hard to fare
Especially when steps don't land on crystal stairs
Slippery when wet...

they call the train station crack central (home town observations)
A pigeon was scavenging scraps
along the edge of the drive-thru
while we were waiting in line
for coffee and fries
and I imagined it pecking
on every car door
asking if we had any potato
and salt to spare
The people 'round here
aren't that much different
to that small grey pigeon
scavenging for scraps
and shiny things left on the ground

There's a family of shopping trolleys
around the corner from my house
that are filled with molding rubbish
