Who were you, really,
back then,
before you were Ono.
It was well known
what you’d been born into.
A family of strong women.
The aunties, sisters bonded
stronger than any men were
even from the Mersey docks.
Julia was the wild one;
seashell eyes, windy smile.
No, that was Yoko;
we’re not going there.
Art student, played Skiffle,
worshiped Mr Hips...
back then,
before you were Ono.

John's Cuban Heel Boot
I cannot be completely true
Of being twins, not Si'amese
We're not connected at the toe
My sibling mate, his brother I.
And being sold by auctioneer
I can't recall if we're mismatched
Perhaps the other leather boot
Was owned & worn by Harrison.
And if that's so as orphaned pair
We walked through life while two men lived
And entertained the world around
Till fashion changed to other shoes.
And while those years were very good
With music, lights, on stage to dance
I got to watch and...

Peace
Peace, a beautiful concept that most hoped for incessantly.
"World Peace"
"Peace be with you."
"Peace, men!"
"Peace Talks"
The beauty queens, the religious, the sarcastics and the governments all have a thing for such ideal.
But for ordinary men, peace is that, just a concept, a substitute for insincere appology even.
Peace means sorry but I am not, so chill and to each his own - a passport to insensitivity.
At least, nowadays, many found to use the word for such, but what is peace, really?

This Love Thing Is All Wrong - Poetry Slam
In the beginning, There was God.
And then God made love. And God saw that it was good.
And then God turned to John Lennon and asked ‘Are you sure this is all we really need, John?’
And John nodded and spoke. ‘It is indeed.’
…… Said no priest ever.
But it is a funny thought isn’t it?
When do you think love was love first created?
Of when and how can probably be debated
I think though
One thing is for sure
Love in it’s essence before this mind of ours,
Was probably a lot more simple and...

Hopping Into 2014
It is but one time of year I can throw this greeting out
as the universe gains another year
so many things I could wish for all:
For those who have felt the heavy hand of nation
that says it loves peace
yet continues to sell weapons globally
I simply echo Lennon words
"but I am not the only one
hope some day you will join us
and the world will live as one"
For those who feel isolated
as if there is no empathy to be found
Sir Paul once told us,
"there is always someone, somewhere
you...

May i call you john?
i cant help feel that the world
is worse off without you.
You dared to imagine while the rest of us
refused to "dream"
like you i never wanted "to be a soldier"
i grew my hair long
puberty allowed me to grow sideburns
i went to spec savers and purchased
a pair of circular gold rim glasses
i got them from you.
Even though i never met you
your influence extends back into my child hood
you tought me guitar
tought me music
tought me how to write songs and lyrics
you...

John please save me a seat
The enemies that they would have you fighting
start with other Americans here
For you must tow the line in November
or else we all we have too much to fear
But let's look at the merry-go ground they give us
more then the bare eye can tell
Institutions will still get richer
of this we should know really well
For when two billion is spent in advertising
that money doesn't go to you or me
But networks that are hardly diverse
maybe a token here and there to see
For it still is a struggle for a nonwhite
to get on the any screen...

This Quiet Cemetery
As a boy I'd walk my dog
On a hot and sunny Summer day
Seeking shade beneath a tree
Seeking peace within the quiet cemetery
In the Winter with my friends
We would sleigh-ride down the snowy hill
Laughing and shouting in fun
Breaking the quiet of the cemetery
Seasons changed along with me
But the secret bench was always there
Whenever escape was sought
There was peace within the quiet cemetery
The sound of snow flakes landing
Brings an inner calmness to my soul
For John Lennon's silent vigil
I traveled back to the quiet...

This Isn’t John Lennon’s Dream
Can you prepare me for what’s coming?
Tell me how it’s gonna be?
‘Cause I’m not sure I can handle it
This societal monstrosity
That creeps and winds its way around
The narrow minded and naïve
And there isn’t a person alive today
That has never been deceived
When it’s bound to books so old
The paper’s now decaying
With ideas so antiquated
They belong in the bindings, fraying
And did you know that someone died?
For being who and what they are
And did you know the words they use?
Will...

only one word i know is a true to life fact
only one group of letters aint white brown or black
theres infinite ways to say the word infinity
but only one of those doesnt come with any limiting
only one word that dont try to specify vicinity
the one word thats true doesnt do any mimicking
spoken by lennon, ghandi and einstein
it cannot be owned and it will never be just mine
look into yourself and this word is what youll find
starts with an i but it ends somewhere else
begins with a my and then leads to yourself
