Merry KKKristmAss Eve
In the still of the night, on KristmAss Eve
I ponder the promises, the secrets they keep
Claiming to be faithful, donning halos too bright
But the truth in dark hearts hides away from the light
Oh, the weight of deceit can break the soul
following the false prophet into a dark hole
Embracing the hate he feels for all unlike him
Nourishing the seeds of prejudice within
While your brains are awash living under autockrracy!
Worshipping the wealthy in unholy oligarchy!
Let all instead bask in the truth, with honor and...

One silent night
One silent night
A world full of light
Warmth is shared
Everyone is full of care
Less blame
As they light the flame
The embers burn
We earn
To gift and give some a lift
That hold signs on the road
That are quietly alone
Chilled to the bone
One silent night
The world is full of light
I hold on tight
To that small flame
That holds less blame
A world full of light
Warmth is shared
Everyone is full of care
Less blame
As they light the flame
The embers burn

To gift and give some a lift
That hold signs on the road

Santa Claus Did It
a Christmas detective story
Lord Sixtus Runcorn had been murdered with an axe, by Santa Claus. Lady Runcorn had seen it through the window of the library while she was walking the primrose path about the house and promptly screamed the estate to a standstill. A doctor was on hand to administer a sedative and she was now sleeping in her chambers, attended by a close friend.
Inspector Frodsham gathered everyone in the drawing room. It was a tradition among the Runcorns of Arrowfield to retire early on Christmas Eve, so the suspects were dressed in pyjamas and robes,...

The Yule Cat
You must know of the Yule Cat
That feline mighty and long
No one knew from where he came
Or to where he had gone
He'd stare at you with intent
Of his burning desire
It was hardly for anyone
To gaze into that fire
His whiskers stiff as needles
A hump on his black back
And the claws on his furry paw
Would surely take you aback
He leaps he claws and hisses
He swings his mighty tail
Sometimes out on the ness
At others in the dale
He'd roam hungry and vicious
On frozen Christmas ground ...

Santa Came To My House
Santa came to my house.
He gave a puppy and naked Jenny.
He unwrapped her for me.

Yuletide Sadness
Every year the winds get colder
Their screams cut like knives
Shadows follow my winter walks
Bitter voices carol the night
Dreams of days when the fire would warm me
You were there inside the flame
But you are gone and the years grow bitter
My soul is withered and wrapped with pain
Drifting in my fever there's sadness
Calling me to come back home
Ghosts that dance inside my head
Forever chill that haunts my bones
Dreams of nights where the world seemed alive
That there was time to catch my fall
But I am left with that...
Their screams cut like knives
Shadows follow my winter walks
Bitter voices carol the night
Dreams of days when the fire would warm me
You were there inside the flame
But you are gone and the years grow bitter
My soul is withered and wrapped with pain
Drifting in my fever there's sadness
Calling me to come back home
Ghosts that dance inside my head
Forever chill that haunts my bones
Dreams of nights where the world seemed alive
That there was time to catch my fall
But I am left with that...

Days
The spirit of each Day
wakes one Morning
having slept the best part of a Year.
And the Morning is the same for each of them -
so much to do, having done so little,
and all in a few hours.
But for Christmas it’s different.
For Christmas it comes hard.
The other days are merely birthdays or anniversaries,
a holiday here and there.
There may be more important times of the year
but for Christmas we are always counting down.
But Christmas finds it easy because Christmas doesn’t care.
And all the other Days...

The Snowman’s Revenge
a Christmas ghost story
Not one person knew who made the snowman,
they said in the end it was “kids”,
that venerable answer to
such articles of mystery.
A year had passed since Peter’s dad
had shot himself where now the snowman stood,
on losing his job in the pits,
to bitter end cursing his faithless wife.
The carrot nose and coal buttons,
the dotted smile, eyes, top hat, and scarf;
it looked like some kind wizard stopped
and filled the drive with cheer for passers by.
With child’s logic, though, Peter...

the Logos
Will there be made the fact
the gracing Word,
comes down for us again
enfleshed
on Christmas day
as once it did?
Will angels sing once more
their startling Gloria above
the gentle hills outside of Bethlehem?
And will there finally come to be
enjoined
God’s peace within the realms of men?

comes down for us again
enfleshed

Can't Get Back To Sleep
Wide awake at 5 am
and slightly frustrated
on this cherished Saturday
This is the day I can sleep in,
but this brain won't let me
Thinking about things I've put off
and how I'm being screwed over by someone
Not a healthy start,
I agree.
And then there is Christmas.
Working in retail,
it takes on a whole new dimension
those songs relentless since November
almost encouraging a rebellious urge
to resist it as long as possible
It will be another gamble
to see if that thoughtfulness ...
