A Nursery Rhyme For Advent
Joyous angels an entire night spent,
singing with flutes they ceased to relent.
Shepherds lowly pitch their dusty tent.
A story indeed reminiscent
of ageless advents when we all went
to sing in churches in wintry Kent.
In fright we gazed at Santa's beard length,
in a speed sleigh drawn by the Elks' strength.
We sought more fun for an extra cent.
But after pleasure we did repent,
speaking solemn words of a good gent:
'Oh, what a pleasant time in advent,
to usher in the infant God sent.'
singing with flutes they ceased to relent.
Shepherds lowly pitch their dusty tent.
A story indeed reminiscent

In fright we gazed at Santa's beard length,
in a speed sleigh drawn by the Elks' strength.

..a travesty..
the trees mentioned it in their morning meeting
it was a clouded mess in need of a clearing
it ran high and round
through sticks and mounds
a proper muck
its thoughts got stuck
till the littlest still
waved a glowing shrill
schlavling and unraveling
her wings tucked into the suckling
they knew it would not
but the fleece was too hot
for it was a day they could not forget
the amnesia however had its place
do you know what's being said here
they asked again. no one answered
they shuddered in fear
because it...

Music Passion Seven
Grandmother was always kind to me
with many...well, most others
she could be quite ornery
but what a joy to hear and see,
when she had the druthers,
to tickle those ivories
While in Yuletide Season
‘roun the piano we’d gather
grandma would play
In a rhythm so pleasing
all our favorite holiday songs
her style was ragtime
like an old west saloon
the only things missing
the bar and spittoon
with many...well, most others
she could be quite ornery

Ever Changing Trees
Times around the christmas tree
the antiapation as the tree enters the house
heading to it's accustom place
the yearly custom of the trek to the attic
to retrieve the old musty boxes
the stories told behind each ornament
as they were place upon the

The following day.
When pain leads
to the Benediction.
Green grass and roses
For the night of December
Of the lights and Chandelier
To swim across the country street
Now the herald Sun of night's
Blue bells.

Boxing Day 3.33am
So i'm home alone
Throughout this festive period
No contacts to see
No zoom
Just me
Alone in my room
But ive got a roof
And food in stock
And a bolted door
That no-one will knock
Although ive lost my voice
As i don't know what to say
My humour for now
Has wilted away

Christ is born (The Paradoxical Christ)
Christ is born this day with Bethlehem's poor.
So unassuming, he enters our world
with shepherds lowly coming to adore
this infant Lord who will freedom herald.
Christ is born this day with Bethlehem's poor.
His star in the east did the magi see.
A star never seen from the days of yore
led them to this great child of low degree.
Christ is born this day with Bethlehem's poor.
His birth this day is marked by angels bright.
Singing with cymbals in a placid night,
they ushered in peace from heaven's great door.

Hanging limp
Missing the weight of that ebullience
the cracker lost its vital snap
conversation and its resonance
a paper crown the jokes fall flat
Merriment's lost echo, on the empty street
celebration locked in dull captivity
lack's the Ho-Ho-Ho and the joie of vivre
watch out next year, and my reprieve

Secret Santa
Ash Lee waits by the window, eager for her gift to arrive. Over the summer, she met 14 random strangers at a Latin convention and had grown to trust them over internet calls. When she is not posting on her Snapchat story, she waits patiently for the delivery man to bring that special box to her door. After crying about a movie for 3 consecutive hours, the time had arrived, and she rushed to the front door to see the Amazon package resting on the porch. Eager to open it immediately, she rushes back to her room to view the box. She goes to grab the scissors but hesitates. Should she open the...

Thank you again
To a new friend
That hung out with me last night
It was fun
Helped keep those negative thoughts
At bay...
And got to see the lights
In each little house
With the perspective of giants looking down at the city....
While just standing on a sidewalk....

Christmas
Brandi Lee ...
What do I want for Christmas?
I want you to come around. I want you to ask me questions, ask my advice, tell me your worries, your dreams. I want you to share your life with me. Come over and laugh with me, or laugh at me. I don't care because hearing your laugh is music to me.
Raid my fridge and eat all my chocolate, it's ok , I wouldn't want it any other way.
I just want you to be healthy and happy.
This is the only Christmas present I want.
Merry Christmas Babygirl and never forget how much I love you.
