Festive Solitude
The holidays were quiet
how it all changed
through the years
empty seats at the dinner table
less laughter
So much emphasis
on one day
And this year
as schedules
and timing dictated
I spent it alone
and survived
But I would be lying
if I said I didn't miss the company
Or those smells of the feast
I never thought as I got older
that connection would be farther away
but it is
and I hope that when it finally happens
it will be about...

Christmas day 2024
Started not with a snowy winter's.
Wonderland dream's
Rather a foggy hazing vista.
Yet it felt Ok & it felt right.
Getting endorphin hit from the view.
Aware I'm feeling so good.
In that I'm ok your ok kinda way.
Every Christmas has been different.
But I'v really loved today.
Spent with the love'st friend.
Who's trust and love.
I'll treasure beyond the grave.

What Xmas?
ive been awake for about one hour (since about 6:30pm) best laid plans didn't come together. i still hadn't got to sleep by 8am this xmas morning, but thinking that part 2 of my plan for 1200 Postcards may still be on. but then i fell ill, collapsed on my bedroom floor sweating profusely, panting, and nausea, so was grateful about 20 minutes later i was able to make my way to the bathroom, and finally back to bed, asleep by 9:30 am, so have just slept for 9 hours. the day is not over, but i don't fancy a xmas dinner (i can do that tomorrow, so still got that to look forward to, yum!) but for...

Christmas Morn
Christmas morn no snow.
Just a foggy sight.
That's feels just right.
Wisps of smoke billow in the still air.
Rising from a chimney pot.
Dazzlingly a dance of pure delight.
Morphing.
Decorating fluid like.
Of shape Designs and Ideas.
If only in my head.
This vision is short lived.
As it only occurs as the fire .
In the hearth is lit.
Dying down as the fire gets going.
As I could see on the house next door.
Turned into a heat hazed wisp'er.
Lit sometime earlier this Xmas morn. ...

Papa Noel aka Santa
My friend dresses as Papa Noel.
That's Santa to you & me.
O how splendid and dandy he looks.
He spread love and joviality.
Where ever he goes & no Yo Ho Ho.
Papa Noel ask me to be his elf.
Glad i was sure to be.
I dressed for the part.
I became his drunken ellifer.

Trying to avoid the great unknown
Castles of silver, streets of gold
The doubts permeate your mind
Was I good enough to make it in
Or was my life to abundant with sin
Will I rise up to the heavens
Or fall to that boiling lake of fire

worked all year
