The Beautiful
Lulled into the calmest waters
Drowning in search
Of the American Dream
The alabaster arm
The contrast of blood against it
The way the breathing calms
Cigarette burns of a thousand nods
Not once the thought of fire
Souls
Trapped in cages
Released an hour a day
The sun hurting eyes
Our parents grew up with the bomb
Well
Our bombs bigger
The annihilation generation
I can taste the Legacy
As it burns my throat
The taste of desperation
Because tomorrow
We could be the ashes
We’ve been fighting for
Drowning in search
Of the American Dream
The alabaster arm
The contrast of blood against it
The way the breathing calms
Cigarette burns of a thousand nods
Not once the thought of fire
Souls
Trapped in cages
Released an hour a day
The sun hurting eyes
Our parents grew up with the bomb
Well
Our bombs bigger
The annihilation generation
I can taste the Legacy
As it burns my throat
The taste of desperation
Because tomorrow
We could be the ashes
We’ve been fighting for
