Plastic Man, Plastic Heart
"Plastic Man, Plastic Heart" By Marcus Cooke
Are you the little boy
with the broken harp
or the plastic man
with the plastic heart
The broken boy
with the broken kart
the intrepid teen
with the prankster laugh.
As age grips us in its
Wise ancient hands
Are life's become untangled
with elastic bands.
Dissolved in rhymes
with the sands of time
where once was a boy
stand a man in prime.
But through the years
Dreams became fears
Hope became lost
Nerves became steel
love was the cost.
I was the little boy
With the broken kart
Now i am older
Jaded,
A sad old man
a sad old fart
The plastic man
With a plastic heart.
Are you the little boy
with the broken harp
or the plastic man
with the plastic heart
The broken boy
with the broken kart
the intrepid teen
with the prankster laugh.
As age grips us in its
Wise ancient hands
Are life's become untangled
with elastic bands.
Dissolved in rhymes
with the sands of time
where once was a boy
stand a man in prime.
But through the years
Dreams became fears
Hope became lost
Nerves became steel
love was the cost.
I was the little boy
With the broken kart
Now i am older
Jaded,
A sad old man
a sad old fart
The plastic man
With a plastic heart.
