Becoming a whole
In the hotel to which they stole,
After their hand-in-hand aisle stroll,
The light is off, it’s dark as coal.
They are each other’s totem pole.
From top of head to the foot sole,
A basic instinct takes control.
Skin pressed to skin and soul to soul,
Two halves express the married whole
As in the bridal bed they roll,
Sharing passive-aggressive role.
(As Frankie sang, "Make love your goal.")
Sated, they taste from the fruit bowl,
Each other's "great"-ness they extol.
They’re young, years have yet to take toll.
(Frankie is 'Frankie Goes To Hollywood', the line from chorus to 'The Power of Love', recently revived and sung in the cartoon film, 'The Snowman and the Dog.')
