Mind above Matter
Waters stretching five miles high from the bottom
Its actual Depth reads murky from the top
Frantically thrashing
Instinctively fighting to keep air at breaths length
Opening my eyes to see
Desolate souls and corpses gnashing teeth from beneath
Moaning and wailing from their shallow graves at the depths of the deep
Weeping in anguish
Physically Dead by drowning but ironically alive in spirit
Left adrift To wallow
In the glory of their short comings
Heart pumping frantically
as my body begins reacting
Mind dwelling upon thoughts and options
Sink or swim rang immediately obvious
Mind and body bickering in doubt
Of each others ability to see the plan out
Calm steps in to negotiate common ground
Easing fears and over confidence to speak with one mouth
Because neither will make it out without the other
Transcending mind body and spirit past its threshold
Eyes adjusting its range and angles
Calculating the best possible escape measure
To execute through righteous steps
The dead murmur and mutter to me in olive branched rhetoric, foul attempts, to befriend me
Because failure only seeks after itself
But my survival attempts have neither failed or begun yet
So I turn the wrong cheek and rebuke their advances
I see no need in relinquishing this one chance...
Chance, At survival. because if I fail
Ill still meet with them anyway
Faith over-powers my heart, my will and my thoughts.
Body comply's, slowly lifting out the water
Elevating of its own accord
Rising Until my last toes emerged
Then lowering myself to stand on the surface
Feet firmly rooted on the waters face
I lean on a crutch of faith
And slowly wade my way
To the element of which I am a seed
Dry land I remind myself as each step creeks
A bit more than the last one did
Weakness manifested of endurance is seeping in
Until my feet crunches on the soil beneath
My second breath is one on disbelief and relief
Followed by the first which baptizes me into glory
Up until that second
Nothing which occurred before or after
Will ever matter
Except for that second
Being Crowned a victor
Of mind above matter
Its actual Depth reads murky from the top
Frantically thrashing
Instinctively fighting to keep air at breaths length
