Running on Ruin

I reckon I came out the womb
Thinking and talking and saying
What's on my mind and it can't be stopped
Stream of consciousness hooked on playing
These games that I can't ever win
So please, please tell me what it is that's on your mind
Don't tread around that thorny bush, keeping me guessing
All day and all night I worship your glory
All in hopes of one day telling our story

So don't look at me with those ocean eyes
Just tell me the truth, I can't swallow those lies
Anymore or any less than I already have
Been running so long, I don't know where my calves
Have gone, like you
Where have you gone tonight?

Been meditating on your words for hours
Pouring over things you've muttered blind
If the acts that be reveal themselves to be powers
Damn, I don't know then, I just need to unwind
So I'm going to tell you all the things I see
In the daylight hours your face illuminates
Whether they be niceties or the evils of me
In a darkened room your resonance tells of our fate

I'm running and running and ruining all of our times of late
I think it's because the future no longer seems
Like something I'd love but something I'd hate
Your presence is something I have shake from the core of me
All the information this here brain has managed to gather
Looks so insignificant in light of the situation now
Being with you, well being without is what I'd rather
Have to myself, the future, my future is in the water
